Chapter 19

I was having the first peaceful sleep I've had in a long time. I didn't have a dream and wasn't disturbed. That was until I was woken up by an air horn and everyone in the Alpha Squadron in my room and screamed," Happy birthday Percy!" I looked at them confused. Was it my birthday? I don't know. Jason noticed the look on my face and said," Don't tell me you forgot your own birthday." I looked at them like they were crazy. " Guys, it isn't my birthday." I said. Thalia walked over to my calendar, took it off the wall, walked over and held it up so I could see. Wow, it really was my birthday. I smiled at them," Thanks for remembering even when I didn't. But now that that's over I have to go get ready and start training." I got off my bed only to be push back down by Nico. " No, your taking a day off." Him and Thalia commanded in unison which was kinda creepy. I was about to protest when Thalia pouted," Don't you wanna spend some time with me?" I sighed in defeat. " Ok, I'll take today off." They all nodded and walked out of my room except for Thalia. " What time is it?" I asked. She looked at her watch," Its 9:23 AM." She said. " Want to get some breakfast?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. I grabbed her hand and opened a portal. She looked at me questioningly and I just smiled at her. We walked through and we were teleported to one of my favorite spots to visit. We were in Alaska and overhead was the northern lights. " It's beautiful." Thalia said looking up st the northern lights. " Yeah, I like to come here and just relax." I could see her shivering. I then realized we weren't really dressed for this climate. I snapped my fingers and she was in a winter jacket and jeans. " What do you want to eat?" I asked. She thought for a second and said," Eggs, pancakes, and bacon." I smiled and snapped my fingers and her food appeared in front of her. I decided to get the same thing but blue pancakes. We ate our food enjoying the sights. When we were done eating we layed back and watched the northern lights. After about five minuets I sat up and said," Thalia, I realized that every second counts in our lives, and anything could happen. Life is short. So I want to make the best my life." I got up until I was kneeling on one leg. " Thalia Grace, will you marry me?" I asked, pulling out the ring. It was a sliver ring with a blue stone in the shape of a heart. I was scared she would say no. She stared at me I shock. " Of course I will!" She said and tightly hugged me. When we broke apart I slipped the ring on her finger. We sat there in silence enjoying each others company. I started drifting off to sleep when we were consumed by the shadows and we appeared in my father's palace. He saw us and smiled. " Percy my boy, congratulations! I would like to give you two a gift." I looked around in confusion, my father noticed this look and said," Sorry, you probably don't wanna be here but I couldn't wait." I nodded," Ok father, what gift would you like to give us?" I asked." I will give it to you after the war." He said. I hate it when he does that! He does it all the time, it gets annoying. But I guess I'll have to deal with it." Ok, is that all father?" I asked. " Yes now go my son." Then the darkness consumed us.
