I slowly let my eyes flutter open, and my room was pitch black. It was surprisingly easy for me to get up though, and I somehow managed to make my way to my dresser in the dark and grab my clothes for after my shower. My "morning" routine has been like this for the last week or so. We all decided to try out switching schedules, to where we woke up just before sunset and went to bed before sunrise. It was hard at first, and Tao had to come wake me up a few times, but I was getting the hang of it now, and I was proud of myself.
I quickly brushed my teeth, then showered, and changed into my favorite dress. It was black with a red ribbon that tied around the true waist. My mother gave it to me before she died, so I treasured it more than anything. I knew that I was abnormally happy today, but I didn't care, it was my birthday. I hadn't told the guys though, not wanting to make a big deal about it.
Once I was finished drying my hair and was dressed, I quickly made my way downstairs, wanting to help make breakfast before all the guys got up. The lights in the house were still off, so I moved slowly through the house, trying to be quiet, and also trying not to trip over anything.
I made it to the kitchen, and stepped inside. The smell of pancakes filled my nose, and I smiled. Mrs. Wood stood on her stool at the stove, and I went about getting am the plates and cup together.
"You look lovely today, Miss." She smiled when I passed her to retrieve the silverware. "Happy Birthday, dear."
"Thank you." I smiled, and placed the utensils onto the trolley, and grabbed the napkins, not wanting to forget them like I usually did.
I smiled as I made my way to the dinning room, humming to myself as usual. I flicked on the light as I entered, and quickly set the table. I was finished and relaxing in the kitchen before Suho even made it downstairs.
He walked into the kitchen, expecting to still have to set the table, but then he saw me sitting by the island in the middle of the kitchen. "Good morning, Suho." I smiled happily.
"Good morning." He said, rubbing his tired eyes. "You look great." He said, his eyes studying me up and down.
I usually would have blushed, but I was too giddy to care. "Thanks." I smiled, hopping down from the barstool where I sat. "I already set the table. Should we go wake up everyone else?" I asked, and he gave a small nod. I must be way to cheerful to leave him that speechless.
"Okay, come on." I said, and skipped from the kitchen. Suho followed after me, and we made our way upstairs together. Once at the top, we parted ways as usual, Suho taking the right side of the hallway and me taking the left.
I knocked on four of the doors I had to, and the guys got up and got ready for breakfast. The last door I had to go to was Tao's, his being the furthest down the hall. I knocked lightly, and there was no answer.
I slowly opened the door, and made my way over to his bed. He was passed out, fast asleep, as usual. Smiling, I shook him awake, and she turned onto his side, facing me. "Wake up. It's time to eat." I said, and shook him again, just to make sure he was awake. It was still hard to get him up, but not as hard as it was during the day. One I was sure he was awake, I walked cover to the couch and sat down.
He sighed, and sat up, rubbing his eyes, then he looked over at me sleepily. He looked confused for a second, and shook his head. "You're happy this morning." He said, climbing out of bed, heading for his dresser.
"Yup." I smiled, and watched him pull out a change of clothes, along with a small black box.
"Why is that?" He asked, glancing over at me since I was smiling like a goofball. When he did, he noticed the dress, and he paused for a second. "You look nice." He smiled.
