Ch. 38

Khristi's P.O.V.

When I woke up, I found myself in Tao's bed, his arms around me as he slept. I smiled, seeing how peaceful he looked as he dreamed. Then a heat made its way to my face, a blush on my cheeks. Slowly, careful not to wake Tao, I climbed out of bed, quickly gathering my clothes from the floor, then I made my way to the dresser. Grabbing a change of clothes, I made my way to the bathroom, tossing the dirty clothes in the hamper.

I quickly showered, then dried off and pulled on my clothes. Once I was finished, I peeked out of the bathroom, checking if Tao was awake or not. I saw him still laying in bed, sound asleep.

I snuck from the room, not wanting to wake him, and made my way downstairs. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Suho, Kai, and Luhan, all of which were glancing over at me with smiles on their faces. "W-What?" I asked, but none of them replied, instead, they went back to eating their breakfast.

I ended up sitting in silence while I ate a piece of toast, watching as they continued to glance at me, still giving me those weird smiles. I sighed, finishing my toast, and brought my plate to the sink, rinsing it off, then quickly left the room.

Stepping into the living room, I found that Jimin, Jungkook, Kyungsoo, and Natasha were now sitting on the couch, whispering to one another quietly, laughing every once in a while. As I entered the room, Natasha turned and gave me a big smile.

"Congratulations!" She said happily, and I smiled back.

"Thanks." I replied, and took a seat beside Jungkook, who looked at me for a few seconds, then quickly looked away when he realized I was watching him. I sighed, and turned to face him.

"What?" He asked, not glancing at me.

"Why are you acting weird? First there was Kai, Suho, and Luhan in the kitchen, and now you?" I began. "What's going on?" I asked, and Jimin took that as his cue to leave, rising from his seat, Kyungsoo and Natasha doing the same. They left before I could say anything else, and Jungkook and I were left alone.

I stared at him, waiting for an answer, and he let out a sigh after a long silence. "Okay..." He began, covering his face, trying to hide the blush that made its way to his cheeks. "So, while you and Tao were at the waterfall, most of us went down to the beach. Luhan, Suho, Kai, Chen, and I decided to stay behind, not really wanting to go swimming."

I waited for him to continue, wondering what that had to do with how they were acting now. "And?" I asked when he didn't speak.

He looked across the room, out the wall of glass, at the garden where Natasha, Kyungsoo, and Jimin now were, watching them for a few seconds before he continued. "We were still here when you and Tao came back..." He trailed off.

It took a second for it to click, and I knew my face was a bright red. He gave me an awkward smile, letting out a small laugh. "Kai, Luhan, and Suho found it more funny than embarrassing. Chen and I left before we could hear anything else, dragging them down to the beach to give you guys some privacy." He explained.

I let my head fall into my hands, not wanting to believe that they had heard everything. I felt like I was going to die of embarrassment. "Oh my god..." I said into my hands, and Jungkook pat my shoulder, but the sound of someone coming downstairs caught our attention, and I looked up to see Tao walking down the stairs, rubbing his tired eyes.
