"Take a wild guess." He said wiggling his eyebrows. She smiled.
He made her smile on a day when she didn't think she could.
"How do you know Drei?" He asked.

"I fell into the wrong crowd and started working for him."

"What did you do?" He asked leaning in.

"It's my turn." She grinned.

"Why do you act so cold?"
He shrugged.
" 'Your experiences make you', I guess."

"Why do you stare at people like that?"
He asked.

"Like what?"

"Like... I don't know, like you can see them for what they really are."

Well she did, she didn't see bodies or people, she saw words and experiences, blended into a wonderful mess that we call a Person.

"Because I know that people aren't born the way they are. They're fascinating... Some more than others."
She expected a snarky comment from her fancy line, but he just nodded.

"Last question." He stated.

Val hesitated, "Why did you save me that night?"

His eyes widened as they met hers and she saw a scared boy lost for words.

"Your car will get clamped if you leave it in the school car park. I'll drop you off."

He stood up and walked away. She followed.

He dropped her home, and drove away, continuing to be distant again. That last question had made him close up.

She was about to put her keys into the door when she heard the arguing had already began. The key distanced from the door and her steps went down the stairs backwards--as if time was truly reversing.
She couldn't go in there.
Valerie wandered the streets, not sure what to do. Chris and Lily had a lovely family she didn't want to barge in on, India had never really mentioned much about were she lived or how it was, Trina and Jase were on date night...
Valerie found Anya's contact.
V: Hey Anya

A few moments later she got a reply.

A:Hey, what's up?

V: I know this sounds really weird but is there any chance I could stay over at your house tonight?? :-/
It showed the message had been read.
About two minutes later, Anya replied.

A: Sure, that would be nice actually. My parents are out on business and it was starting to get lonely anyways :-)

V:Tysm! You're a life saver! Xxx

Val arrived at the extremely large house-or mansion.
She stepped up the steps and knocked on the door.
Soon, Anya opened the large door only in a large tee and pink silk shorts.
Without makeup she was still gorgeous.

"Hey!" She said hoarsely.
"Hey, thanks so much for letting me crash. Things are a little difficult at home right now." Valerie said stepping in from the slightly damp outdoors.

"No problem. I get it."

"Woow, your house it gorgeous." She mused as she stared up at the chandelier and marble.

"Thanks," she said nonchalantly.
"Want a drink?"

"Sure."

After settling in and watching a few episodes of Scream Queen--a perfect match for Anya's reputation--they both loosened up and began chatting and joking.

"So, like, if you don't mind me asking, why did you ask to stay so suddenly?"
Anya said in her extremely Californian accent.
"Well, my sisters back in town to say the least." She laughed sipping her diet soda because of course that was all they had there.

"I get you. Like my brother? He's an ex-military soldier who married a politician and started his new firm in New York."

"Well, she's no where near that kind of success, she just makes my life a living hell and I'm not about that."
Though Val didn't know Anya well, she was lovely when she wasn't surrounded by ass kissing minions.
Anya started sniffing.
"Why do you smell like a dudes Lynx spray?"

Valerie laughed sheepishly.

"Spill," Valerie couldn't believe the cliche.

"Well, I ,uh, had to talk to a guy after school."

She wafted the scent towards herself,
"Are you sure you just talked? You smell of it a lot for just talking." Anya said wiggling her tidy brows.

"He gave me a ride home. And we only talked!" Val defended.

"Aww, that's so cute! Who is he? Does he go to our school?"

"I mean, yeah. But it wasn't anything 'cute' we literally had one thing to talk about... A project."

"Who!?" Anya begged getting down on her knees.

" Beast boy " Valerie chuckled but Anya didn't join her.

"What?"

"Yeah, we just are partners for a class project." Val shrugged. Amazing lies!

"I mean, you know, I get he's not the kind of guy who would do anything to a girl... But still, I'm pretty sure he's like really aggressive with everyone right?"

"Not really," she replied hugging her knees. "He's rough around the edges, but he's alright."

"Wow," Anya said sitting back down and crossing her thin legs, "You rode in his car?"

"Mmhm" what's the big deal? He must be a maniac for people to be so surprised...

Anya looked as though she was working something out. "Yeah, that could work. Mmhm, I guess you guys would look cute together." Anya chuckled as Val rolled her eyes and threw a pillow at her. "It's not like that."

A/N: Bit of a cheesy chapter tbh. it's a bit of a filler but the next ones will be better I promise!
