Vals phone buzzed on her bedside table. An unknown number sent her a text but it didn't take long to know who it was.
ID: I'll be outside your house in an hour. Dress nice, angel.

Val didn't know whether to throw up or smile at the text but the thought of the college party dissolved any reaction away. Maybe once and for all she could figure out whether it was Alec or The Beast who stared at her with a twinkle in his eye.
Valerie liked parties but she was working and had to blend in. So, she popped on a black silk slip dress. Pairing it with black vinyl boots that had a see-through heel, a black choker and leather jacket. She whisked on some eye makeup but did nothing past her brows. Just as she was done she got Alec's text saying he was outside. How he got her number she did not know.

It was about 10pm but the party went on until 3am. She slipped out of the front door, careful not to make a sound and hopped into his car. His inky hair was slicked back except a few stray strands that fell above his brow and he wore a crisp bullet grey shirt, the top button undone and the sleeves rolled up. He looked like a damn CK model. With a shirt. He glanced at her and a ghost of a smile spread across his lips.
"What?" She asked.

The smile faded and an unfamiliar expression set. "Nothing." His voice was clipped. They drove in silence, heading further and further into the rough area until they pulled up outside a sorority house that's picket fence was smashed and littered.
"Follow me." He said coldly.
They walked into the house and straight to the kitchen. He shoved a red cup in her hand and quickly downed 2 himself. Very quickly his mood improved and he was buzzed.
"Alright," he shoved a large bag of weed into her hands while he had a bag of pills in the other, "Sell all of this by the end of the night."

She had to take a large gulp of her drink. "Dude," she didn't know why she called him that, "I can barely sell a gram round a street corner, yet alone a whole bag."
He shook his head and sighed as if she was missing te most obvious answer.
"You're a girl."

"That's been clarified previously." Val stated.

He put his hands on either shoulder,
"You're a girl at a sorority party, a pretty one at that." A blush crept up.

"What're you saying?"

Alec sipped another drink.
"Do you know how to flirt, angel?"

"Sure," she lied.

"Obviously not, flirts don't get called Angels." He winked and I could already see he was on his way to being drunk.

His hands trailed down from her shoulders to her forearms before settling around her wrists.
"Flirting 101" he said.

"Eye contact and touch are you're new best friends."

"Anya's coming later for 'safety precautions' so save you're flirting for her."

"And don't be afraid to move your body," he said, ignoring her.

"I have to left feet an gangly arms!"

"Move your body, your got a good one so draw people to you by dancing and with Anya too that'll bring tonnes of customers."

"I feel like you're living fantasies through what you're imagining."

He shrugged.

"Blame me for trying, angel. But when Drai's dogs come sniffing you out and capture you to be his sex slave, don't come crying to me." He said putting his hands up.

"Oh bite me, Alec."
He leaned in, "Oh, you'd like that wouldn't you."

"You think your cute, huh?" She smirked.

"Well, your hands shake whenever I'm near you and you're blushing right now, so... I guess I am." He smirked right back.

"You think you're the only one who can be a tease?" She said leaning in and sending him back a step. A small victory.

"I'd like to see you try, angel."

With that, she swiped up her cup again, tossed her jacket at him. Making sure to sway her hips and flash a grin as she left the room and continued to 'mingle'.
Alec was left slightly gob smacked.

By an hours passing, Anya had arrived looking like a queen and Alec had his tongue and pills shoved half way down every girls throat.

"So, you're here 'selling' with Beast?"

"Only selling... And also trying to piss him off." Valerie replied.

"Oh? I heard spontaneous girls frighten the living day lights outta him. Not to mention driving him crazy too." Anya winked, completely knowing.

They smirked at each other, Anya pulling Val to the centre of the dance floor--right in line where Alec could see. Thanks to all the alcohol she'd consumed she didn't really care about how she was dancing but she felt her hips swaying and hands above her head. Her favourite songs were playing and for the first times in a long time she let loose. She felt Alec's eyes burning into her. Glancing over her shoulder she saw him among the rest of the gaping boys, watching every swish and sway. She had his attention. She was a step closer to finding out whether Alec or the Beast was looking through those eyes. But she also needed to sell that damn bag that was burning holes in her purse. Anya stepped up onto a table, thrusting her chest out, "For those of you who know what partying all about, my girl over here's selling what you want!" Almost everyone cheered and suddenly a crowd of drunk teens swarmed her. Most paying more than wanted due to being in such high demand, Valerie had feared that a few people might've thought she was selling something 'else'. Thankfully, no one actually came over for that.

Within a few moments, the bag was empty and her pockets were full.
While Alec had a very subtle way of slipping pills into people's pockets and their money in his own, the recklessness of Anya's strategy worked equally--if not better.

"Anya, thank you so much!" Val shouted over the music.
"No problem! But tell me, are you an Alec ... A thing?"

Valerie laughed but her cheeks burned.
"No, just partners."

Anya smiled, devilishly, flipped her hair and strutted towards him.
Despite herself, Valerie sighed because she wasn't sure why that question had made her uncomfortable.
She glanced over to them.
Opposites that would look amazing together. Alec with his dark look and Anya like a ray of sunshine. Very, very sexy sunshine...
Anya was scooting up to him and he seemed relatively interested in her, still his distant self.

Valerie had to get some air.
