The boy notices me and walks to me as I walk to him. Uhmm....

"Hi, I'm Harry." He says holding his hand out.

"Um hi. I'm Summer." I say going to shake his hand.

"What a lovely name for a lovely girl." He says smirking slightly.

"Oh uh... Thanks. You have a lovely name too." I say awkwardly. Gosh. Stop being so awkward!

"I haven't seen you around here before. Do you come here often?" Harry questions.

"No. Actually, my friend and I thought of it last minute because we didn't want to spend a wonderful day like this as a couch potato."

He chuckles. I'm funny? "I just pictured a potato on a couch. Haha!"

What? "Gee. Now made me think of that."

"You're cute. Could I, maybe, have your number? He asks rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

I look around. He has an odd look on his face. "Oh. You were talking to me? Cool! I don't get boys numbers often. Score!" i say fist bumping the air.

"You don't. That's crazy. You're way to pretty not to have boys numbers. I'm a lucky guys then. Score!" He says mimicking my move.

I laugh. He is so adorable. "Haha. Well, I should get back with my friend." I look back to see Eleanor waving at me. I hand him my phone so he can put his number in it.

He types it in and hands it back to me. "Thanks. I'll see you around."

"Yeah! Just don't forget to call me!" I shout at him as I run back towards my best friend.

I smile. I finally reach El and we both start jumping around and squealing. "Oh my gosh!! He was so cute!" El squeals.

"I know. OMG!" We jump around and squeal for about 5 minutes straight.

"okay okay. What happened? Tell me EVERYTHING." She demands.

"Well, His name is Harry. He thinks I'm funny and I think he's funny. He is cute and oh my gosh his dimples..."

"Sum, you're rambling. Did you give him your number?" She asks.

"Yes! I forgot to give him mine, however..." I say sadly.

"Hey. that's a okay as long as he calls you." She reassures.

"I know. Well how about you?"

"Alright, well, he is quite crazy. His name is Louis. He has pretty blue eyes and the sweetest smile."

"Aww he sounds sweet. You got his number, right?" I ask.

"Of course I did!"

"Just making sure." I laughed.

We head to the car and drive back to Eleanor's home, so I can give her swim suit back. Although, she has to drive me back to my home because I walked. It was already starting to get dark out.

The stars started to shine in the sky. I always thought the stars were our ancestors looking down on us. They watch out for us to lead us in the right direction. To somewhere where we can be happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time. Somewhere miserable and magical. They smile down on our mistakes. They smile down on our victories. We make both because no one can be perfect. As long as we can realize the difference between the wrongs and the rights because we can fix them and change the way we choose to do things.

El and I don't talk during the car ride, but it's okay. It's not an awkward silence. It's comfortable. We were never the talking type of friends. We just enjoyed each other company. We finally reach my house.

"Thanks for the great day, El." I smile.

"No problem, Sum. It was so fun. I'm glad we met those guys. They were so sweet." She exclaims.

"Right! Yeah. I will give you the swim suit tomorrow." I say.

She smiles. "You know. You can keep it. It looks way better on you anyway. Plus, I can always get another one."

"Oh okay. Thanks. See you later."

"Bye, Summer." She drives away as I open my front door.

I had a wonderful day today. I wonder what time it is...

5:36 pm. Hmm..

It's not that late.

I would wonder why I see the stars, but the stupid daylight savings time is the reason.

I might as well cook something for me to eat...

I just need to cook enough for me, myself, and I...

Sometimes I wish I had someone to share this lonely home with, but I know I can't. I have had a little bit of a history with relationships. I haven't had a boyfriend since I was 17 years old. That was two years ago and I still can't get over it.

He was a wonderful lad, but his real colors started to show a little after we started dating. It was a tramatizing time for me and I don't usually speak of it. The only people who know about it are Eleanor and my other best friend, Hope. The guys that I hang out with don't know about it either.

I guess I can say that he was part of our little group. Just me, Hope, El, Drew, a few other guys, and John. Yup. That was his name. John. He came to our school when we were in our sophmore year. He sat alone at lunch and never talked to anyone. Everyone ignored him. Even our group. I was the only one to take notice of him.

It was a Wednesday during lunch. I got up from my table and I walked over to his table....

=====Flashback=====

"Hi. I'm Summer. Can I sit here?" I asked.

He barely looked up at me. "Oh uh sure."

"So... are you new here?"

"Yeah. I moved here a week ago." he replied with direct eye contact.

"That's cool. Um. You never told me your name." I say to him.

"I'm John. John Ranto."

"Well, it's very nice to meet you." I hold out my hand for him to shake. He looks at it weirdly and slowly goes to shake it.

"Thanks, but why are you talking to me?" He asks.

"Well, you just looked so lonely at the table by yourself. I figure you should have a friend. Sooo here I am!" I explain.

"Thats really nice of you, but you don't have to do this. I mean, you look pretty content with your group. I don't know why you'd want to be friends with a lonely guy like me..." John starts to ramble.

I giggle a bit. "It's fine. I love having friends, so you can sit with us if you like."

John looks up and smiles happily. "You know what? That would be great."

=====End of Flashback=====

I guess I didn't notice the smirk on his lips and the evil in his eyes.

I think I was so caught up on how handsome he was and how sweet he seemed that I never sensed the change in him. There was definitely a difference from the day we met to the day I wish I could forget him. It changed from a soothing green to a bright red. Do you understand what I mean?

Once again a tear slides down my face as I remember those few years. Sometimes I don't think I can trust anyone, but the people I really know. That leaves my family, El, Hope, Drew, the others...

But can I really trust them?
