FUNNY HOW...I DELETED THE PLAYLIST I WAS MAKING FOR THIS LMAO

also hi here's an update you shits (this a/n shows how lazy I am)
-----
It's already seven?! Fuck. Fuck. Okay, I should've gotten ready earlier.

Luke hurriedly styles his blonde hair and tug some random pair of black shoes onto his feet.

Good enough? Oh, who cares. The guy he's going out with probably won't, and he'll be sweet and dreamy and kind...

A knock at the door wakes Luke from his fantasy, and he hurries down the stairs to greet my date.

Inhaling deeply, He swings the door open. "Hi, I'm Luke. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Nathan," He says, smiling. It's nice and Luke feels warm looking at his eyes crinkle.

"I remember. Shall we get going?" He smiles back, grabbing his keys and wallet.

"Absolutely. You look even better in person, by the way."

Luke gives him a puzzled look. "Thank you?" He says, chuckling.

"Shit, sorry! You looked great in your photos too. I just mean that you look...wow. Sorry, I get really nervous on first dates," Nathan says, rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's alright, I understand. There's no need to be nervous, come on," He smiles, taking his hand.

Nathan blushes a little, and Luke feels good.

-----

Nathan is charming, sweet, dreamy, and kind. A complete package.

He talks about his dreams passionately, and listens to Luke's every word. When he smiles, nothing else makes sense and the world passes by.

And Luke feels like he's insane. So insane. He feels like he's floating.

"I had a really fun time tonight," He grins at Nathan.

"Me too. Do...do you want to maybe do it again sometime?" The taller man asks shyly.

Luke feels electric. "Absolutely. Can I pick the place next time?"

"Deal. Is this where you wanted me to drop you off?" Nathan asks, pulling up in the driveway.

"Yeah, thank you so much. Tonight was incredible."

He smiles. "No problem, I haven't had a night out in a while."

"That'll change with me here," Luke winks, opens the car door, and slides out of the vehicle.

Nathan chuckles. "Goodbye Luke, I'll text you soon?"

"Of course. Bye, Nathan." He closed the car door and waved as his date drove off.

Luke began walking to the front door, smiling to himself.

-----

"Hey, how wa-you can't stop smiling! That means it went well?" Kirstin grins widely.

"Yeah. It went amazingly," Luke gushes, still in the clothes from his date, since he asked to be dropped off at Kirstin and Calum's home.

"I'm so happy for you. Was he just as hot as the photos?" She asks, nudging his side and wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

"Shut up," Luke groans. "Yes, he was just as hot and more."

"Ooh! Sit down and tell me everything," She says, taking a seat at their dining table.

"Well...I mean, what do you wanna know?"

"How was it?! Did he like what you like, does he love his mother, what does he do for a living? I don't know, is he everything you've ever wanted?"

Luke pauses for a moment, drifting his gaze down to the black binder on the table so Kirstie wouldn't see his expression.

Is he everything I've ever wanted?

"What's in there?" He asks, pointing to the binder.

"This? It's just some wedding things...nothing too major. Can I hear about the date now?" She whines.

"Can I see it?"

"Luke, why-"

"C'mon, I just wanna have a peek. I'm gonna be up there somewhere too," He points out.

"Alright, fine," She complies with the request, opening it so they can look through it together.

The dress is the first page and oh. Oh.

"Is this...the one?" Luke breathes, gazing at the photo of the long white dress.

Kirstin nods. "I just checked a bridal shop nearby. They have it. I have an appointment for two weeks from now."

"It's...it's beautiful," He says, awestruck. He imagines how flawless and angelic his best friend will look floating down the aisle.

Then he is brought back down to earth by a single thought.

Calum.

The boy he loved, the boy he lost, and the boy he's losing because of this.

The dress in front of him is not his, obviously. But it opens his eyes. He is not Kirstin. He cannot marry Calum.

And Nathan isn't Calum, although their appearances may be similar. He cannot date Calum.

The whirlwind of thoughts hit him, and suddenly he collapses.

"Luke? Are you alright?"

He's crying.

"Luke...why are you crying?" Kirstin asked softly, rubbing his back.

"I-I..." He sobs again. This wedding will be the death of him. That's all he can think about.

Calum will never be his.

"Let it all out, it's fine."

"Kirst? I-I have something to confess..."
