Ⓑaekhyun stood still for a moment as the person hadn't noticed him yet, even though he literally turned on the lights, but he was still curled up like a ball, crying.
Until Baekhyun couldn't take it any longer, he finally cleared his throat as he crossed his arms over his chest.
The person glanced up immediately and turned around as he sat on his knees. The sight made Baekhyun think if he wanted to beg for forgiveness. "Oh,"!he gasped as he realised who the crying person was. Mr Nerd. "It's you."
"I'm sorry for being here," he mumbled, barely audible. Baekhyun decided not to say anything and just waited until he'd move, but he continued to stay in his position.
"Well?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to go?"
The male's eyes widen, and he seemed very surprised at him. "I..." he started, but let it drift off. "Yes, I'm sorry, again," he sniffed as he got up and headed to pass him. This was the first time Baekhyun was aware of him being close, and when they were both standing, he was so tall it surprised the smaller one. He's one hell of a giant, he thought to himself as he watched him walk away, until he could finally close the door and start to practice again.
He placed himself on the small piano chair, and let his fingers guide him through the music, and he sang whatever he had in mind as a warm up, until he actually followed a script to a song he was learning, followed by with his voice.
By the evening, Baekhyun was kicked out of the practice room as usual, and he had to go home. He never liked the feeling of being home. His parents where never there until late at night when he already had gone to sleep.
When he was younger, they had a nanny who took care of him, but he refused to have a baby sitter and 'another' mom, so they made her quit, and now Baekhyun was practically living alone.
Another bad thing to have made the nanny quit was that Baekhyun never bothered to learn cooking, so his meals was basically based off junk food and warm-up food.
"What should I try today?" he mumbled to himself as he stood in front of different warm-up meals. He shook his head in disagreement, grabbed the warm-up food, and headed towards the cashier.
The person behind the counter was a strange looking man; he had a hat on, sunglasses and a mask, literally covering himself, and he wore all-black. And he's working here?
"Is that all?" the dark voice asked whilst looking directly at the boy, from what Baekhyun could tell.
"Yes," he replied. Somehow, the voice sounded familiar, but Baekhyun couldn't place where he had heard it before.
"It's not good for you, you know," he said as he checked the meal and the price popped up. "Card or cash?" Without answering, Baekhyun reached him cash, enough for the meal, and he stuffed it in his school bag and left. "Goodbye and good evening!" he called after him, but Baekhyun pretended like he didn't hear and just kept going.
He locked himself inside and immediately headed towards the kitchen to warm up the food. It only took five minutes, and the pink boy was already sitting with his meal on his lap as he watched the television. It was a cooking-show he tried to like to learn from it, but it only bored him more, so he always eventually switched the channel to Animal Planet, or to a movie channel. He wanted to watch a movie, but it was only romance genre movies, and Baekhyun was certainly not in the mood for romance.
Watching other couples having fun and doing happy stuff together always made the male grumpy. If only he hadn't confessed to that male years ago, he wouldn't have felt what it's like being rejected, and he wouldn't be afraid to fall in love again.
But it wasn't just to fall in love anymore. Not when Baekhyun purposely avoided students at his school. He didn't pay attention to anyone. He didn't want to be fascinated by anyone, and then start to like them. He absolutely didn't want to fall in love.
As the night followed, Baekhyun threw his finished meal box away in the trash-can, headed upstairs to change into his pyjamas, brushing his teeth and washed his face, and finally went to bed. As he fell asleep, he didn't - for the millionth time - hear his parents coming home and going to sleep.
By the time the boy woke up, his parents were still asleep. He had gotten a stern warning to never wake them up unless it was a life-threatening situation, so he was as quiet as he could as he moved around to get his cereal breakfast, showering, and then heading out for school once again.
For some reason, Baekhyun was feeling energetic. It's not like he always were dull and tired, but he must've slept well as he actually wanted to go to school to do something good for the day.
For the first time in a long time, Baekhyun didn't doze off in classes and stayed awake; he also didn't get kicked out of class as the teacher didn't have a reason to kick him out. Some of the teachers during the day smiled proudly at him with a small nod, but he only ignored it and continued being in a good mood as he had missed the feeling.
When Baekhyun and Jongdae headed towards the Biology room that was in the basement, they chatted along the way pass the locker hall.
Baekhyun was talking about something funny he watched on the television yesterday, which Jongdae laughed to, and out of nowhere, Baekhyun hit his head on something, and he fell down on his butt as he dropped his books.
He rubbed his hurting area on his forehead whilst groaning in pain, which he could swear felt like a bump appearing.
"I'm so sorry," another voice apologised.
Baekhyun opened his eyes as they focused on a much taller male, staring down at him worriedly. "You again," he snorted as he was about to stand up, but when he saw the offering hand from the other, he accepted it and let him help him up.
"Does it hurt?" he asked as he stared at the smaller one's forehead.
Baekhyun nodded. "It really hurts, you know." Baekhyun didn't want to lie and let him get away with it that easily, so he might have exaggerated a little bit about the whining. "How come your locker is..." Baekhyun was too embarrassed to finish the sentence as he only would sound stupid.
"...open?" the taller asked, which made Baekhyun blush madly in embarrassment.
"Forget it," he snapped as he bent down to pick up his books. The other had done the same to help him, and when they finally stood up again, Mr Nerd handed him the books.
Baekhyun didn't feel the need to thank him, so he only exchanged gazes for a second, until he walked away over to Jongdae again. "I'm really sorry!" he called after him, but Baekhyun just reached his hand to the side for a small wave, and they finally arrived to the classroom where Mr Nerd luckily didn't have with them.
"I saw you blushing," Jongdae teased as they sat down.
"Shut up," Baekhyun groaned as he held over his forehead again, hoping the burning pain would slow down soon.
"You know, the whole scene reminds me of a comedy romance," he kept teasing.
"I said shut up Jongdae," Baekhyun growled.
A comedy romance was definitely something the petite boy didn't want. Absolutely not.
