The song on the left describes what Alistair feels like as a person. That's how he feels about himself, so yeah, listen to it to enhance the chapter! <3

“He said you were beautiful,” he shrugs. I eye him suspiciously, and breathe a shaky breath. I lean my head against the window. I knew I wasn’t beautiful, so hearing it from a creepy old man piqued my suspicion. “What, you don’t think you’re beautiful?” he questions with a sly smile.
I look over at him, and I feel a smile wanting to form on my lips. “Do you?”
He chuckles lightly, and never takes his eyes off the road. “Yeah, I do.”
I sigh, and turn to face the window again, he didn’t have to lie—he could have said no. “Whatever,” I nod.
My phone buzzes, and it’s a message from Jenna.
Jenna: Ugh, these freaks are bowling with us! Wish you guys could stay. But I hope you have fun with Alistair. *wink wink* ; )
I blush, and look over at Alistair, who is very innocently obliviously.
Me: W/e Jen, nighty night, have fun—but not too much fun.
“That’s a cool looking phone,” Alistair says. My attention averts over to him. “Um, it’s nothing much—”
Before I knew it, he had my phone in his hand. “How much fun were you planning on having with me?” he purred. My heart palpitates, and my stomach drops. “That’s none of your business—I mean—that’s my phone—”
“If you did something with me, wouldn’t it be our business.” He puts emphasize on our, and I slump back against the seat.
He starts doing something on my phone, and I shout at him. “What’s wrong with you! Eyes on the road, you’re going to get us killed!”
He laughs lightly, and passes me my phone back.

Alistair’s POV:
After I dropped her off, I realized how much her scent has permeated my car. It was intoxicating, but also made me suffer slightly. Like sweet pomegranate fragrance. She was beautiful—sure she had a pimple here or there, but she wasn’t immortal, and she wasn’t perfect. Neither was I though.
I was on my way back to the RV, maybe I could get a rest for a while before Jenna and Luke came home with their ruckus. I needed to get a new home. I needed to get a nice job, because playing in the pool halls and gambling so far wasn’t working out that much.
As the silver tin of metal looms in my view, I breathe a sigh of relief, knowing no one was here yet. As I park the truck, I hop out, and enter the front door.
I wonder if she will ever notice I put my number in her phone—why was I so attracted to her. She was so enticing—for no apparent reason. Maybe it was her strong, independent façade, that she didn’t need anyone.
