The ambulance could be heard coming up the road with its distinctive haunting wail. It pulled up to the roadside that had gathered a few onlookers now. The attendances pulled out the necessary equipment and made their way over to the scene.

Simeneon sat on the rock a few feet away watching as the emergency crew worked on the injured man. Within five minutes they had retrieved him from the wrecked vehicle taking him towards the ambulance. She got up making her way over to the man on the stretcher.

He was placed into the back and within seconds they were off. She stared at the ambulance as it wailed away finally catching a glance at another vehicle parked behind the destroyed limo. Dr. Miller stepped out of the driver's side and ran over to the three of them, he was still in his housecoat.

"Is everyone alright?" he asked breathlessly.

"We're fine." chimed in both Simeneon and Fin together.

"John?"

"Fine doctor, if it wasn't for the great plan our young lady here devised I really don't know what would have happened." He pointed at Simeneon.

"Well, it seems that you can really think on your feet." He smiled then ushered the three of them to the back of the car. "Someone will be here to collect the limo later, please get in and we'll get you home where it's safe."

The car pulled away from the scene heading towards the main city. All onlookers got bored and left as all the excitement had passed. The area became silent except for the occasional car driving by. Nobody saw the dark cloaked figure approaching the limo from the woods to the south. It glided smoothly down the asphalt road skirting the limo and moving over the field towards the smoldering sedan.

"Yes, master I am at the vehicle." A distant voice said from under the cloaked hood. "No master I do not see it yet, give me a moment."

With a wave of its bony hand, a bolt of energy swept from its wrist and hit the vehicle with the strength of a small army. The car shook for a moment then flipped back onto its melted tires bouncing as it came to rest a few seconds later.

Another wave and the doors flew open sailing across the field. The figure slid over and with one more bolt sent the interior exploding outwards. What was left of the car was now in pieces scattered across the ground like a used car junkyard. With a methodical search, the creature tore through remnants of the car searching for some unknown object. The figure inspected every item on the ground twice finally tossing the cars seat farther into the woods in a blind rage.

"Master I have searched the vehicle, there is no sign of the piece." The note of fear quivered with every word. "I await your instructions." It hovered for a few moments then spoke to no one. "I am leaving as we speak... Yes, master, I will contact him at the hospital, he will tell me where the piece is or face our wrath."

Then with a flash of his wrist a fluctuation in the air began to wave as an opening appeared. The portal grew to the size of the hood creature and as it stabilized it walked into the center of the disturbance to an image of a hospital beyond.

Ever since they had left the accident, what the injured man had said bothered her, 'How could he have known about the minions?' she thought to herself. Something wasn't right and her curiosity got the better of her. She persuaded the doctor to take her to the hospital to see the man that had tried to kill them.

They pulled up into the hospital's parking lot quickly shuffling into the staff's entrance bypassing the lobby. The doctor had been against Simeneon seeing the man, but he too had become to trust her intuitions about certain things. She had a feeling about this man; anything he could tell her would help in the future.
