Simeneon had drifted to sleep as the small plane rose in altitude to avoid the approaching storm coming approaching the mountains to the west. She tossed slightly in the uncomfortable cockpit chair, her face twitching from some unknown dream. Fin looked back at his friend and smiled. 'I wonder what she dreams about.' He asked himself as the plane hit another air pocket making his stomach turn again. 'I hope it's a good one, I have to be better than this plane ride.'
Simeneon stood at the brink of the ice castle watching as the Northern Lights danced magically across the sky. She stared in awe at the beauty of the northern country and the vastness of this winter wonderland. She was lost in thought unaware that someone had come from behind.
The sensed the person and she knew the figure behind her was a friend. She turned slowly and smiled, "It's been a long time, how have you been?"
The small ghost smiled back, shimmering in and out of clarity as the wind shifted around the snow. "Thank you for asking, but my well being is not why we are here. You are heading for trouble and you must be prepared." Roanna said with some urgency.
The young ghost had been murdered by the wizards of the 'Brotherhood of the Realm'. Her father the emperor had formed the Magical Council that would help protect his kingdom, but six of these wizards rebelled and on one fateful night had killed emperor Raheme and his daughter Roanna.
Of course, it came out later that Simeneon was related to Roanna and carried the ancestral mark. Now it seemed whenever Simeneon had danger-approaching Roanna was not far behind to help her. To Simeneon she was her guardian angel, a special person to trust and take seriously.
"I've been going into danger before, what makes this any different?" Simeneon asked.
"This is one that Heldom has pointed his finger at. They wish to stop your search for the artifacts here and now." her voice wavering.
"Do they know where the artifact is being kept?" She pushed.
"No they do not, but it will not take long for them to find out the information.
"How long?" She watched as the young ghost began to fade out of existence now.
"You must wake now" Roanna's far away voice said.
"How long!" She tried to get an answer.
"...Wake nowwwwww..."
Simeneon popped open her eyes as the little plane began to rock dramatically in the air, its wings shaking with every movement the small plane made. She jumped from her seat pulling herself beside Fin who she noticed in horror was sagging to the right in his seat. She brought his head towards her and the blood was the first thing she saw. She looked over to the pilot and noticed he was hunched over the steering wheel.
"Mr. Hutchison you have to wake up! Mr. Hutchison, please!" She yelled to the unconscious pilot.
Wasting no time she grabbed the pilot and pulled him from the seat, dragging herself over the seat and taking his place behind the wheel. 'Now, what?' She screamed in her head. She looked over the instrument panel and stared at all the unknown buttons and gizmos that were nothing short of foreign to her. Panic began to set in as the horizon began to get higher and higher in the sky. "WHAT DO I DO?" She yelled.
The voice she heard seemed to come out of nowhere, she recognized it of course but she wondered if it was reliable. 'You must remain strong and alert, take the wheel in your hands.'
