(song: Drown; No Phun Intended)
I need to stop writing long chapters

||Josh||

I was woken up by my phone ringing by my head. I sat straight up and answered without looking at the number.

"Hello?" I asked groggily.

"Hi Josh, this is Dr. Blake," he spoke from the other side of the line, "sorry to wake you,"

My eyes went wide when I heard who it was, "No, no, it's fine. So, what are you calling for? Is Tyler okay?"

"I just wanted to tell you that you will be able to pick up Tyler today and take him back home. But you have to make sure that he doesn't eat anything but soft food for the next few days,"

"Got it. And I just wanted to say I'm sorry for how I overreacted yesterday, I was really stressed and I guess I just lost it,"

"No worries Josh, I understand,"

I smiled, "When should I pick up Tyler?"

"You can stop by before lunchtime, but be careful, he still doesn't completely remember everything,"

"Okay, I will probably go to the store if he doesn't have anything but thank you for calling me,"

"No problem, I will see you in a few hours,"

"Thanks."

I hung up and glanced at my clock to see it was just past 8:30 in the morning. I walked to the bathroom and took a quick shower before getting ready and heading down to Tyler's apartment where I checked his fridge for food, that he didn't have. So, I picked up some soft foods, mainly ice cream, from the store and filled up his fridge and freezer with it all. Let's just say he's going to be eating yogurt for a while. I drove back to the hospital and was about to walk into his room but I stopped myself. It was like I couldn't move and I was frozen in place. Why is this happening? I'm so nervous to see him because I know he isn't going to know who I am, and that kills me.

I finally walked through his door and shoved my hands in my pocket as I leaned against the door frame. He smiled, "Hey Josh,"

I smiled, no matter how much it hurt, "Hey,"

"I guess I'm leaving here with you then?" he asked and I nodded. I grabbed a shirt and a pair of skinny jeans for him before I left and I handed it to him as he walked to the bathroom to change. I waited and he walked out with a nod.

"We have to get checked out now," I spoke as we walked out of his room. The doctor already came in earlier to write the last things down and took out the IV.

"Dr. Blake said that Tyler is able to leave," I spoke to the lady at the front desk.

"Joseph?" she asked and I nodded. She clicked on a few things in the computer before printing out a few papers and handing them to me, "Okay, you're ready to go,"

"Thank you."

She waved and we waved back before we walked out the doors. Tyler was officially out of the hospital. I wanted to say 'Tyler is back to normal' but he isn't the same anymore. He got in my car on the passenger side as I started the car and drove back to the apartment.

I walked inside my apartment and let Josh inside. He looks so familiar but every time I try and think about who he is, theres only faded and hazy memories. I'm so confused on why this happens and a little scared. I sat on the couch in the living room as he sat on my countertop with his feet hanging down. He kicked them back in forth as he stared at them.

"How do you know me?" I asked and he looked up at me.

He cleared this throat, "Well, we sorta became friends after we met and, as I said before, we're-uh, dating, now."

I continued, "So how did we meet?"

"You work at the music store and I play the drums so I walked in to buy a few more pieces for my kit. I heard you playing piano and so I told you you were good at it. Then you later went to get a new pair of Vans at the place that I work, which is the Vans store in the mall. I asked if you wanted to hang out and you said sure,"

I nodded, "I wish I could remember."

His small smile faded and he bit his lip. He pushed himself off the counter and I stood up but I felt a sharp pain in my side. I lifted up my shirt to see a giant bruise formed on my skin.

"Whoa," I said as I lightly touched it. Josh looked like he was going to cry, "What's wrong?"

He shook his head, "It's just-nothing,"

"Is this from the crash?"

He paused a little then shook his head again. I put the pieces together until realizing what was going on.

"Did you do this?" I asked, pointing to the bruise. He slowly nodded his head and bit both of his lips, "Why?"

"You wanted me to," He answered sadly.

"What?"

"It's a long story-"

"I have time."

"It kills me to even think about it, Ty,"

"Please Josh," he shook his head and I huffed, "I need to be alone right now."

He looked confused now as his eyes were glossy, "What?-"

"I'll see you later, I think you better go,"

He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out, so instead he nodded. He walked over to the door and opened it. Before he closed it behind him, he stopped, "Tyler?"

"Yeah?"

He turned around to face me with a tear just starting to roll down his face. I stepped back slightly after seeing it. It hit me in the heart, hard.

"I love you, don't forget that."
