Sam's POV

I walk away from her beautiful body to get us lunch. Hmm, I think quietly. What shall I get us? A tasteful steak with potatoes or a simple hamburger with fries? I'd better just stick with simple, she'd get mad for spending too much money, I think to myself with a chuckle. The walk feels longer without Graces presence by my side and her hand in mine, but I finally reach our car. I unlock the door and climb in, pulling out my phone to check for fast food restaurants near the beach. The McDonalds is too far so I settle on A&W, which is right around the corner.

As I put the key in the ignition and bring the car to life, I notice an old lady walking towards the car. It is obvious the her final destination is me, her eyes are lit up with a fire that I have never seen in someone of her age, as I search her face. Beck raised me to be polite, so I wait in the car to make sure she actually intends to speak to me. After she might need help, or I might be tottaly mistaken and she is just heading down to the beach to tan her wrinkly skin.

But then she comes up to the window and knocks, motioning with her other hand to roll it down. I do as she says, me being nothing if not polite.

"Are you Samuel Kerr Roth?"she asks curiosity and urgency in her eyes and posture.

"Yes?" I answer, a challenge in my voice.

"Oh my dear God, it's you, it's really and truly you! Now step out of that car and give your old Grandma a hug!"
