I got out of the car and started walking up to the school building beside Audrey.

"Hey. It'll be fine. If they mess with you let me know and I'll make sure they don't do it again." I told Audrey with a slight laugh as I used my shoulder to nudge her.

I looked over as I seen some people staring at Audrey and laughing. I glared at them before Audrey pulled out her camera and started recording.

She always loved recording.

I looked over as a guy came up to walk on Audrey's other side.

"Ah the lady of the hour." The guy said. "This day is going to suck exceptionally hard." Audrey said pointing the camera at the guy. "What? But you love taco Tuesday."

I couldn't help but smile a little. "Come on let it out." Audrey told the guy. "Its just Rachel seriously? The socially awkward Catholic school film geek is your lesbian lover and I have to find out by a YouTube video? I call the best friend foul."

"I didn't make the video." Audrey told him. "Uh yeah. The lack of production value made that pretty clear. But if we could just move right on back to the whole lesbian thing."

I finally recognized him but I don't think he realized I was there.

Noah Foster.

I'd heard a lot about him but never really met him.

"Okay not a lesbian. Not discussing it." Audrey said. I looked over as some girls laughed as they walked past us.

"Do you have a problem with my sister? Is that what it is? You can all screw off!" I told them and they rolled their eyes walking past.

"Wait sister?" Noah asked Audrey. "Yeah. Remember I told you about her a while back. I told you Dakota was coming today anyways." Audrey told Noah.

"Oh uh hi, Dakota." Noah said. "Hi, Noah. Nice to finally meet you." I told him. Audrey smiled resting her head on my shoulder.

"Screw them anyways. They'll find something else to talk about soon enough." I told Audrey. "Yeah I hope you're right."

I looked up as Mr. Branson turned back around after writing something down on the board.

"Brooke, will you please tell us which genre originated from the Castle of Toronto?" Mr. B asked.

"The castle genre?" Brooke said uncertainty.

Me being me I had to answer.

"The gothic genre."

Mr. B motioned to me. "Thank you. Guys look I know. No one wants to sit around reading 500 pages of monks and curses but nobody is forcing you to watch The Walking Dead."

Jake raised his hand. "Is The Walking Dead on the midterm?" I rolled my eyes.

"Zombies aren't literature, Jake." Emma said.

"Why not? Horror, Gothic, Romance it's all the same." I said. "Or the same rotting flesh." Mr. B said.

"Dakota's right. Gothic genre is all over TV right now. You have American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, Bates Motel, Hanable."

"Well what about Texas Chainsaw?" Jake asked. "That's a slasher movie. It wouldn't make sense to make a tv series out of a slasher movie." I said.

Everyone looked at me. "I mean think about it. Girl and her friends arrive at the dance, the camp, the deserted town, whatever. Killer takes them out one by one until 90 minutes later the sun comes up as there's the lone surviver girl sitting in the back of the ambulance watching as her friends bodies get wheeled away. Slasher movies burn bright and fast. TV needs to stretch things out. And by the time the first body is found its only a matter of time until the blood bath starts."

I felt like a complete nerd now.
