Chapter Nine

Deuce

My eyes open and I yawn as I sit up, Stretching my arms out, I see my adorable boyfriend Danny sleeping soundly beside me. He was snuggled into my pillow with a cute smile gracing his beautiful face. I wanted to do something cute for him. Then I get an idea; I should make him breakfast in bed! I quietly get out of bed and sneak down to my kitchen.

What should I make? I ask myself.

Maybe his favorite breakfast food? I remember reading somewhere that Danny loves chocolate, so maybe do chocolate chip pancakes? And everybody loves bacon. There we go! Bacon with chocolate chip pancakes and of course coffee is what I am making, and if I have time, maybe some eggs for myself.

I get out the ingredients needed for the pancakes, plus some chocolate chips to put on them while they are cooking. First, I mix the dry ones together and then I slowly add in the wet ingredients. While the batter is resting, I turn on two skillets and put a dollop of butter in each of them. I get the bacon from my fridge and set it down on the counter. While I wait for the batter, I turn on the coffee pot and fill it with water. By now, the batter was ready so I get the 1/3 measuring cup and scoop three pancakes into each skillet. I grab the chocolate chips and sprinkle them on top, making sure the tops were completely covered. I finish up the pancakes and start the bacon, just as I heard footsteps in the kitchen.

"Deuce?" Danny yawns.

"Morning Sugar." I say over my shoulder.

"Are you making food for me too?" He asks shyly and I laugh.

"This is for you."

"Really?" Danny squeals and I nod.

Then his arms were wrapping around my waist as he embraces me excitedly. I smile; he's so goddamn adorable! The bacon was done, so I slide it onto the plate with the pancakes. He lets go of me as I turn around, taking the plate from me.

"You are so sweet to me." He says with a blush.

"Hard not to be, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me." I smile, as his blush gets darker.
