Chapter Eleven

Since Danny loved when I made him breakfast, I have decided to plan out a very cute picnic date in my backyard for us tonight. Arrowbella and Jewel were currently helping me plan what we will make for food. I asked for their help because both of them are hardcore romantics and both knew how to cook a variety of dishes. It was also an opportunity to spend time with my nieces since I only met them a few months ago.

"I'm making the desserts!" Jewel calls out.

"I have a menu planned out!" Arry exclaims, passing us a list.

It had mini grilled cheese sandwiches for an appetizer. The entrée is homemade pizza... Okay? Finally the dessert said "up to Jewel" which made me smile. I look up at the raven-haired teen and she smiles back.

"It's a surprise for both of you. I'll be making it while you get ready." Jewel explains.

"Jewel, you run to the store. I'll help Uncle Aron set up the backyard!" Arrowbella says and she leaves, taking the menu with her skateboard.

"I have a vision!" My niece sings, dragging me to the backyard.

"I think we should take plates and sit candles on them scattered around the yard for a simple, romantic touch." She says after looking at my blank expression. I loved the idea. It's just what it needs.

"Let's make a trip to that store with all the house stuff." I tell her and she smiles as she nods.

"We need candles, a table cloth, a basket and you should get him a present so think of something you can get for him while I'm gathering the stuff. Browse the store, find something cute." I smile back at her, loving the game plan as we get in my car.

The store wasn't far, so in about five minutes we were there. She grabs a shopping basket and goes towards the candles, while I go find a perfect gift for my boyfriend. I walk through the store, wondering what he would like. I stop at the stuffed animals and smile when I see a decent sized lion.

"Perfect!" I squeal, grabbing it and taking it to the checkout.

Arry was soon finished shopping. She had a shopping basket full of candles varying in color and size with a jar of rose petals on one arm, and then in the other she held a beautiful black lace tablecloth and a large white picnic basket. Arrowbella sits them down on the checkout after I pay for my lion. She whips out a black credit card and hands it to the cashier. Once everything was paid for, we head back to my house. Jewel was making something with chocolate when we walk in. Arrow drags me to the backyard with our supplies after grabbing a bunch of my paper plates.

"Let's do this shit!" She laughs, laying out the tablecloth in the center of the yard.

Jewel brings out the food, while Arry was setting up the candles. It was already all packed up in the basket. She takes the jar of rose petals, taking out a handful and scattering them in a path leading from the tablecloth to the backdoor. Jewel keeps going, letting them fall as she opens the door, no doubt continuing all the way to my front door.

"That rose petal idea was Jewel's by the way." Arrowbella says, sitting down the last candle.

The candles were arranged in what seemed to be a random pattern but when I looked more closely, I saw she had made an intricate design. I couldn't tell what it was but it looked beautiful, she had arranged three to a plate. There must've been over a hundred candles, carefully placed to form some unknown patterns.

"I made a pattern of hearts and roses." She explains as if she read my mind.

"Oh! That's really cool! Do you need help lighting them?" I ask and she gives me a wicked smirk.
