Julie's POV:

Once I got onto the bus I slowly made my way to the back. My finger tips glided across all the seats as I walked back further. The bus start moving so I had gain my balance by holding on to each seat.  I passed many kids,  the ages ranged, but they all acted the same. They all sat still, very different than whenever we went to school. When we went to the school the buses would be filled with laughter and noise. This was the complete opposite it was quiet, with maybe one or two people whispering. No one wanted to talk, mostly because we didn't have anything to talk about. I found a empty seat towards the back of the bus. I sat next to the window and placed my bag beside me. The bus ride would be pretty long because we lived the furthest from the hills. The hills were located on the country side, away from all the other cities, about three hours from our current location. The hills was a sanctuary that was built at the beginning of this year. It was built for all people under the age of twenty-five  so they will have a safe place to be. The reason why they picked young was simple. If the youth dies out, their will be no future. The hills was a bordered in city. It has a fences all around the boarder controlled by the inside so no one can get in and no one can get out. I've never seen it but people say it looks like a normal city, except the fact that theirs only young people living their. I sat with my head leaning against the window, the cold pressed against my cheek turning it red. I twisted the necklace between my fingers before I put it around my neck. I then sat their starring at the back of the heads in front of me, thinking just what is going to happen to me.

The three hours went by pretty fast. By the time we arrived it was past midnight the stars in the sky lit up the quiet bus. The only sound was slight snores from small kids who have already fallen asleep. They started to split us up by our ages. Group one kids aged from 10 and under we're going to be dropped off first. Second group kids aged from 15 to 11, and last group aged 16 to 25 which was my group. We were all dropped off at different locations. The small kids were dropped off what looked like a old school. The second group dropped off at a neighborhood to share houses with each other. Then it was our turn, we were going to be dropped off at condos almost like college dorms.  The person in charge on our bus clearly stated what we were suppose to do. We would all get off single file, line up in front of the check in desk inside. We got off the bus and the wind whipped at us. I tugged my coat tighter around my body trying to keep myself warm. Once we went inside we got split in two lines, girls and boys. I was the last one in the girls line, their was about ten girls ahead of me. The check in process went pretty quickly. They took your name, age, and location. Then they would send you into the next room for further questioning. While I was waiting to get checked in I glanced at the boy's line. I looking to see if I found any familiar faces but failed to do so. Then I heard the lady call next, I realized she was talking to me and I slowly walked forward. The check in process was pretty simple and went by quickly. After I checked in, I  went to another room where they asked me more questions. They asked me where I went to school, if I could fight, if I ever shot a gun, took drugs and the list went on and on. After the long list of ever lasting questions they did a doctor check up then I  was free to go. They handed me my keys to my condo and basically told me to find it myself and I never felt more nervous in my life.

Once I finally found my hallway I slowly made my way to my room, I was looking at the key chain to see what number my room was again, when I tripped and dropped my keys and the papers that were given to me. The next thing I know I felt a hand wrapped around my arm. I quickly pushed it off of me then grabbed the arm and twisted it as I pushed the man up against the wall. I looked up to come in eye contact with a tall man, he had to be in his early twenty a and was clearly terrified. "I was just trying to help you up I swear." He said, and held his hands up in defense. I sighed and stepped back from him. I examined his face, his bright green eyes glistened in the light. His hot pink lips brought out his dimples that weren't that visible. His hair was a jostled mess in blonde curls. "I'm sorry, I just was frightened." I said and he did a low chuckle. He helped me pick up my papers along with my keys. "I'm guessing your new here?" He said in a happy tone, I nodded in response. He then looked at my room number. "1118" he said quietly. "Your room is right next to mine I'll show you the way." And without me saying no he started walking down the hallway. As we got closer I heard loud music blaring threw the walls. I'm pretty sure it was some metalcore music but I really wasn't sure what artist. "Sorry about the noise my roommate is a bit of a ass." He said I giggled in response which I haven't done in months but it felt so good. "I'm Ashton by the way, I hope we can be friends, I'm already friends with your roommate I think you will like her." He said as we stopped at what I guessed was my room. "Well it was nice to meet you, wait I don't think I got your name!" He said as he walked across to his room. "I'm Julie." I said softly. He smiled and quietly said Julie to himself. "Nice to meet you again." He said before I opened my door and stepped into my new home.
