Julie's POV:

I twisted the door knob slowly, afraid of what might be standing on the other side of the door. I walked inside the room, it was pretty small. A couch with a tv was the living room, a kitchen on the other side of the room, and then the room broke off into three more rooms. Two of them were bedrooms the other, the bathroom. Their on the couch sat a young girl. Her hair was black as coal, yet her skin was white as snow. Her eyes were a dark brown almost the same colour as her hair. She turned towards me as I shut the door. A smile plastered across her face, she stood up and started walking towards me. "You must be my roommate." She said politely. I nodded in response, and then studied her more. She was much smaller than me, she had to be only 50kg. She wasn't only smaller than me by weight, by height she was much shorter than me too. She held her arms out for a hug and I leaned in a little bit. I didn't squeeze her too hard because I was afraid I would break her some how. "Here I'll show you to your room, I'm Alex by the way." She said and took one of my bags on her shoulder. She lead me threw the living room and then towards one of the other rooms. She handed me my bag and gave me a small smile. "What's your name?" She said as she opened the door to the room. "Julie." I said quietly, still not sure what to think of her. "Well Julie, where are you from? How old are you?" She kept rambling on and asking me never ending questions which I would answer quite short. I wasn't here to talk to anyone, I was only here because my mom made me come. I should be at home, protecting her. Before my dad passed away he taught me how to fight. We would practice day and night, he showed me every thing he knew. He said that if anything ever happened to him, he knew I could take care of mom. But being here, running, hiding, is not protecting my mother. I have failed him, I didn't keep my promise and that weighed on me heavily. "Julie, are you okay?" Alex said breaking me from my thoughts. "I'm just tired, it's been a long day." I responded. She nodded and got off my bed walking to the door. "I'll let you get some sleep then, goodnight roomie." She said and shut the door behind her. At this moment I thanked that my white lie worked and I was alone with my thoughts.

I awoke to the sun shinning on my face threw the window sill. The light danced across my room carrying my eyes with it. I studied my room since I didn't get to much last night. The walls were painted a cream colour, the bedding was your basic white. The closet was small, I would maybe fit all my clothes in it. Lastly a night stand laid right next to my bed. I decided to unpack now instead of later. My clothes fit in the closet, I then unpacked my backpack. I placed my favorite and private things in my nightstand draw. My favorite book, my iPod along with headphones, my grandmothers bracelet, along with other things. In the bottom draw I hid the gun my father gave me just in case. I hid it behind some of my clothes, so it wasn't visible unless you actually looked for it. As I was shutting my draw I was frightened by a hand being placed on my shoulder. I took the arm and threw the person over my shoulder and then placing my hand under their neck. Before I did anything further I realized that it was Alex. She was terrified, her eyes wide, her face screwed up and I could feel her heart beating fast. "Sorry" I mumbled. "Oh no big deal I think you just broke my back." She said laughing. I then put my hand out for her to take which she declined the offer by doing a handspring to get her back on her feet. My mouth dropped in suprise, she didn't look like she could fight. We heard light chuckles by the door. "I was just coming to ask if you would like to get coffee with Ashton and I?" She motioned towards the door. Ashton stood at the door leaning on the door frame with a slug smile on his face. "Sure." I said in response. "One problem we have to take my annoying roommate with us." He said.
