Lucy's POV
I walked down the streets of Coruscant, looking into the pubs and shops, seeing signs of celebration everywhere. Children danced in the streets as fireworks highlighted the sky above. I chuckled, looking upon all the happy faces of the citizens of the galaxy.
They were all celebrating for one reason. The Empire had fallen. The rule of the Sith was over.
I continued walking through alleys and paths to my destination. The moment I heard about the defeat of the Empire, my mind had been set on going to one place. The Jedi Temple.
All of the inquisitors left a couple of years ago when all the leagues of inquisitors disbanded due to the rebel interference. It had been empty ever since, only ever being used by the Emperor himself or Darth Vader. But only on rare occasions.
As I rounded the corner that revealed the grand temple, I saw it was still empty. The Rebellion had not yet come back to reclaim it yet. I slowly walked up the steps, brushing my shoulder length hair behind my ear and stuffing my hands into the pocket of my jacket.
I had certainly changed since I had been here last. I had cut my hair to my shoulders and I now wore plain black pants, abandoning the skirt, with tall black boots, my red lightsaber strapped to my belt, my droid deployer still on my back, and a simple black jacket with a black shirt underneath.
As I approached the main entrance of the Temple, the temperature seemed to drop 10 degrees as I paused, glancing back behind me, reconsidering my decision to come back here. But, I took a deep breath, holding my head up, and confidently walked into the Temple.
The halls looked exactly as they had when I was here last, the reconstruction done after the Maul explosion proving to be precise. I ran my hand along the wall as I turned a corner. I let my mind wander, my feet guiding me through the hallways. After a few more turns, I stopped at a door. My breath caught in my throat as I recognized the door. It was the door to the council room, the spot Maul had set off a bomb and I thought I was going to die before confessing my love to Ezra.
Oh, Ezra.
I looked at the ground once I thought of Ezra. I had avoided thinking about him ever since I had left him. I hugged myself as a tear found its way down my cheek. I quickly brushed it away before activating the automatic doors, the doors swishing open as I stepped in. As the rest of the temple, it looked exactly the same.
I studied each seat individually, noticing the creases in each one. Once I had reached the end of them, I stood in front of the large window that stood behind the chairs, blocking the outside air from coming in. I sighed, hugging myself once again, as I looked out at the people going about their day.
"Oh, Ezra, wouldn't our parents be proud?" I muttered quietly to myself.
After I left the Rebellion, I had gone on a journey to discover myself. I had discovered quite a bit. I had met people who had known my parents, and knew me for a short time. I was told my parents were passionate and caring. And they, as many others, were against the Empire.
As I looked upon the world of Coruscant, I saw three large ships enter the atmosphere from a distance. Rebellion ships, no doubt. As I watched the ships approach, I felt a presence in my mind.
I looked to my right to see the Force ghost of none other than the Grand Inquisitor. He had visited me quite a bit in the last few years, so I was not surprised to see him.
"What do you want?" I asked, annoyance lacing my voice. I did not appreciate him interrupting my moment.
"In one of those ships is a Jedi," he said simply.
"And why should I care?" I asked, but brightened up once an idea popped into my head. "Ezra?"
"I am afraid not, my dear," he sighed. "But, he is still important, nonetheless."
"Who is it?" I questioned.
"The son of Darth Vader."
"That is ridiculous! Vader never had children!"
"Oh, but he did. Twins, in fact."
"Why did I never know about this as an inquisitor?"
"Because Vader himself did not know until recently."
"But why should I care?"
"Because, he was being guided by Yoda, but Yoda is dead now. Luke does not fully understand the Force. He only ever truly used the Light, and only knew his father used the Dark. He does not understand the fine line between the two, and it seems the Force feels you should teach him."
"How do I know he will trust me? Once he sees my red lightsaber, he will automatically assume the worse."
"Ah, but there is more to this mission then just you showing him the ways of the Dark. He has yet to fully understand the Light. There is someone out there who has trained for longer than he has and understands both sides because he has used both."
"Are you talking about Ezra?"
"Yes, my dear. In approximately 3 minutes Luke, Vader's son, will walk through the doors of this room. When he does, you and him will go on a journey to find Ezra, so you both may teach the future generation of the Force."
"Why us?"
"Because, you two were the Jedi of the Rebellion, of the Empire. Luke will be the beginning of the Jedi of a new generation."
"Do I at least get any hints as to where Ezra is?"
"He is no longer with the Ghost crew. They separated a while ago."
I looked up in shock at the inquisitor's words. I would have never imagined the Ghost crew to separate from each other. They were family, one of the closest I had ever seen.
"What happened?" I questioned.
"A Jedi died, and a padawan was left without a mentor. He left, the rest soon going their separate ways, but still keeping in touch. But, Ezra has continued his training with past Jedi. He has gone to temples to speak with ghosts and has learned much. You two are the hope for the future," the inquisitor explained.
"Why is it always Ezra and I the Force chooses to pick on," I sighed.
"Because you two are strong," he said before he disappeared. At the same time, I heard the door swish open.
