Okay, so before I start, I just want to start by thanking everyone because this book is currently #62 in fan fiction! (Insert excited screams)
Okay, here's the chapter.
Ezra's POV
I sat on the ground in the middle of the Lothal desert, staring out at the horizon. It was only midday, so the sun still beat down on my back. I slowly breathed in and out, my legs crossed.
I looked to the sky once again as I closed my eyes, connecting with the Force.
The world around me seemed to slow as I felt the Force swiftly flow through me. My breathing slowed even more as the Force showed me a vision.
I had come to Lothal after I had just been on Coruscant. Just as I had arrived on Lothal, I heard news that the Rebellion had won the war. I had come to Lothal to seek out the temple on the planet, as I had with other planets I had visited before. As soon as I had heard this news I knew the Force would tell me something about this, I just did not know who would give me this message.
Two years ago, when I was seventeen, when I was still part of the Ghost crew and the Rebellion, I had seen Kanan killed in front of my eyes. When I saw that happen, when I saw my master murdered, I just couldn't stay with the Rebellion anymore. I left, seeking out various temples in an effort to finish my Jedi training. I had now idea what had happen to my crew.
As I had journeyed from temple to temple, I had met with many Force ghosts, including ones such as Yoda, who had informed me he had just in fact died recently, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, who died a while back. I had even managed to train with Kanan again.
But who would talk to me today, I had no clue.
As my whole being started to be taken over by a vision, I saw a short figure appear in front of me.
"Yoda!" I called out in greeting.
"Welcome once again, young one," Yoda nodded to be as I approached him. "Hear about the Rebellion victory, did you?"
I ran my hand through my buzz cut hair as I replied. "Yeah. I felt like we would talk about that today."
"Anther mission, the Force has for you," Yoda sighed deeply.
"What is it this time," I also sighed, although in annoyance.
"The Jedi Order," Yoda said.
"Are they making a new one?" I asked.
"Yes. Leading it, the son of Vader is."
"The son of Darth Vader himself is starting a new Jedi Order? I didn't take Vader as one to have kids."
"Did not know about them, he did," Yoda informed me.
"When did this kid find out he could use the Force?"
"A little less than a year."
At this, I burst out laughing. "A year? I have been training for five years! How does he expect to start a Jedi Order?"
"Trained him briefly, I did."
"Well, did you tell him about Lucy or I? We are the only other Force users alive!" I exclaimed.
"No, I did not," Yoda said.
"What? How do you expect him to understand the Force if he has barely trained?"
"Know more than most past Jedi, you do. Train him, Lucy and you must."
"I haven't even seen Lucy in years!"
"Good time to get together again, it is," Yoda chuckled.
"Where am I supposed to go?" I sighed, putting my head into my hands.
"Nowhere, you will go. Come to you, they will."
"So Lucy is coming with this guy? What's his name?" I asked.
"Luke. Same age, you are. Get along, you should. Teach the Light to him, you will. Teach him the Dark, Lucy will."
"Great. Involuntary leader of a Jedi Order," I said sarcastically.
"Until then, talk to others, you will," Yoda said.
"Who else could possibly make this day any worse? I left the Rebellion for a reason! To get away from the poster-Jedi role!" I said.
"See you soon, I will," Yoda said before disappearing into the cosmic Force.
"Thanks for nothing!" I yelled into nothing.
"Ezra?" a voice from behind me asked.
I looked behind me to see a young man, maybe in his late twenties, early thirties, with a scar running over his eye and one side of his face with unkept, shaggy brown hair, wearing black Jedi robes from before the Empire.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I am Anakin Skywalker, but you might know me as Darth Vader," Anakin said.
I didn't flinch or jump from surprise, not a lot of things surprised me these days, and for some reason this did not either.
"You were Ahsoka's master, Luke's father," I said.
"Well, Luke and Leia," Anakin said, running his hand through his hair nervously.
"As in Leia of Alderaan?" I asked.
"Yes. Luke and Leia are twins."
I nodded slowly, me gaze dropping to his waist, where he had a belt with two lightsabers attached.
"Light or Dark?" I asked.
At first, Anakin looked confused, but he realized I was asking about the lightsabers he had, and he grabbed them. As he swished them out, they activated, showing that one was a red blade while the other was blue.
"One for each side I have been on," Anakin said. "But I see you have built more then one."
My gaze now fell to my belt, where I had three lightsabers clipped, with many, many more in my ship I had acquired. I had collected kyber crystals at every temple I had visited, collecting from as many as one to ten. I had every color, including red, and I had every fashion.
"I needed a hobby," I said to Anakin.
"Understandable," Anakin chuckled.
"So, any special treatment you want me to give your kids when I see them?" I asked.
Anakin's face suddenly turned stone serious. "Don't tell him I met with you until later."
"Why? I would think he would be happy his father is looking after him," I pointed out.
"I do not want him to get distracted from the task at hand; leading a new galaxy into peace and understanding the Force," Anakin explained.
"I do not doubt we will be talking quite a bit in the future?" I asked.
"Me and others," Anakin said, waving his hand out. Suddenly, many Jedi masters of the past appeared around me. Some I recognized, such as Yoda and Mace Windu. But others were complete strangers.
"This is that serious then?" I asked.
"Whether this plan works out or not will affect many generations of the future," Anakin said.
"So really serious, then?"
