that beautiful rasp of a voice
like sandpaper and butter and every other metaphor there is for a voice like yours
except there aren't any
because your voice is the only one i've ever truly heard before
i've been listening my whole life
just not hearing
and now i'm hearing at max volume
seeing every color in the spectrum
soaring swaying spilling over with words and sounds
all entirely new to my infant ears
so before it gets too late

won't you lull me to sleep with that voice of yours
