A/N: A song fic featuring She Don't Know She's Beautiful by Sammy Kershaw. This story features Bobby Manning and Tara Williams. :) I don't own song lyrics.
Tara hadn't felt comfortable since she'd put her dress on.
She anxiously smoothed the fabric down over her hip and reached up to tweak a lock of hair... only to remember that she had managed to tame the unruly locks into a French twist and unless she wanted to ruin the thin tendrils of hair that had been curled into submission of being perfect spirals then she'd better not touch them.
She had groaned audibly when D came in the door that morning and announced that there was a cocktail party that had to be attended... due to a potential sleeper cell leader who would be in attendance and since Jack and Sue had gone to the last one... Tara would have her choice of partners.
Seeing as she'd been dating Bobby for six months, Myles had good-naturedly accepted the position on the caterer's staff.
"Do I have something in my teeth?" She whispered hurriedly to Bobby.
"What?"
"My teeth...?" She bared her teeth at him for a moment. He looked confused. "Everyone's staring at me and I don't know why." She shrugged.
Bobby smiled and nodded. "They've been staring the entire time we've been here."
"Why...?" Tara shook her head. Bobby chuckled and leaned forward, brushing her lips with his gently.
We go out to a party somewhere
The moment we walk in the door
People stop and everybody stares
She don't know what they're staring for
"I told you when I picked you up."
"You're biased." She retorted.
"You're beautiful." Bobby insisted. "And I told you that months ago when we went out before."
Tara rolled her eyes. "You were at a fragile mental state that night. I wasn't sure what to believe." She said primly.
"I've told you it... time and time again luv." He reminded her, putting his arm around her as they surveyed the room and he snapped a picture or two with his cufflink cam.
She don't know she's beautiful (never crossed her mind)
She don't know she's beautiful (no she's not that kind)
She don't know she's beautiful
Though time and time I've told her so
A sharp wolf whistle pierced the night air.
Tara glanced around sharply before pulling her wrap a little tighter around her. "What's the deal?" She asked, glancing around again. "Who are they whistling at?"
Bobby chuckled. "You."
"Me?" She questioned. "Just because a girl puts on a dress and a pair of heels... doesn't mean she should get whistled at."
"Shouldn't it depend on who's whistling?" He asked.
She smiled slightly. "Sure." She shrugged her shoulders. "But you're not whistling." She pointed out.
He looked down at her, raising an eyebrow slightly at her. "Do you want me to whistle?"
She shook her head. "Like I said... it's nothing to fuss about."
