Can't let ya go

All I could feel was Daryl dragging me by the wrist and the cool air hit my face as we went out the door to the bar. Daryl came to a stop as soon as we were far enough from the door, he let go of my wrist and gave me an angry look.

"How could ya be so stupid?!" He yelled. I furrowed my eyebrows, "stupid?! Who ya callin stupid?! If anyone should be mad it should be..!" Before I could even finish my sentence Daryl pulled me in for a tight hug. He held me for what seemed like 20 minutes. "Daryl...?" I said in shock.

He quickly pulled away, "ya shouldn't be looking for attention, especially not that kind of attention." He said. "I wasn't lookin for anything." I said in a grumpy tone as I crossed both arms. Daryl scoffed, "what are you even doin here anyway?" He asked.

"I'm here with Megan, besides why do you care?" I said. Daryl chuckled, "I don't." I could tell he was lying, "Daryl, you're lying." I said in protest. Daryl gave me an annoyed look, "I ain't lyin about nothin!" He protested back.

I giggled at his frustration, "stop laughin." He said. I gave a small smile and sighed. "Thank you." I finally said. Daryl looked surprised, "welcome." He said in return. "Okay grumpy, I'll go home if that makes you feel better." I joked. Daryl crossed both his arms, "whatever." He said before giving me a small smile.

I could tell that's what he wanted even if he didn't say anything. I smiled back and nodded. Daryl nodded back and turned around and hopped in his truck and drove away. I felt my smile slowly disappear. Daryl is confusing me more and more and it's tearing me up inside.

I went back inside and grabbed Megan so we could leave. On the way back to my cabin, she kept asking me what happened, I couldn't quite give her an answer, considering I didn't know what was even going on. I started to feel really down and Megan could see it. She offered to stay over and keep me company but I refused. I didn't want her to see me this way.
