Naddy, feeling ready for the day, walked out of her house and found Dill sitting on her doorstep.
"So what are you doing today?" He asked, she thought she could detect a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"Emotion changing," Was her bubbly reply
Dill's eyes went wide, "Be careful with that."
His warning sparked her curiosity, "Why?"
"People should be free to feel what they're meant to not what they're forced to. Emotion changing is dangerous, it's addictive and it could easily lead you down the wrong road,"
Dill brightened up again after that and they walked to the temple, chatting happily as per normal. Naddy knew better than to press him, he would elaborate more when he felt like it.
When they arrived at Wyrdhaven Dill went off to his school while Naddy walked to the training grounds. She couldn't go to the school because she was so far behind, luckily she had been pretty good at her work back at her Aldcrest school so she wasn't really going to miss out on an education, if there was anything major she missed then Dill would probably teach her anyway.
As she walked, Avenner landed on her shoulder as he has been doing each morning recently, they exchanged pleasantries then Avenner gave her the daily gossip; who's dating, who broke up, who accidentally flooded their house...
Naddy didn't know any of the people but she still enjoyed listening to the gossip, it showed her that the people really weren't different here than in Aldcrest. She also though about how weird it was that she had gotten used to this new life so fast, it had been less than a week and she already felt like she had been here her whole life, like she was meant to be here, like this was her home. When Naddy arrived at the training grounds she was surprised to find a young red-headed lady there as well, before she remembered that it must be Lucy, the empath.
The red head walked over and introduced herself as Lucy (guess she'd been right). The door opened behind them, they turned around to find Darry leading 3 people who had volunteered to have their emotions changed.
Naddy was nervous at first due to doing magic under so many watchful gazes, but she shook it off when she remembered they were there to help not judge.
Standing at the front of the line was a man that according to Lucy was feeling sad (after the death of his dog a week ago), she remained looking at the man as Darry told her to focus on him, clear everything else out of her head, to remember what it's like to be happy and to let that feeling wash away everything else. She remember a day at the lake with Dill and this overwhelming sense of happiness washes over her. Lucy checks the man again and gives the thumbs up, he's happy too.
They did similar things for the rest if the day and Naddy went through a whole spectrum of emotions, from happy to sad, angry to calm, nervous to courageous.
The end of the day came and it was time to leave, Lucy turned to Darry and curtsied "Goodbye Prince Darius" she said before she turned at left.
Naddy whirled around to face him
"You're a prince!?"Darry visibly tensed up then through gritted teeth replied "Indeed" before leaving the room.
