AMANDA POV:
So I walked into Mrs Junior's English class with my friend, Ian. His normally neat hair was slightly messy from being pushed in the hallway. He constantly tells me not to worry, that it happens all the time. But I can't stand the way they treat him. They're BULLIES! It's not fair that even though I'm the most popular girl in school that I can't even protect my best friend.
Ian and I took our seats near the window in the colorful classroom. The walls were lined with pretty posters talking about the helpfulness of grammar. LOL. All the desks are lined up in rows. I have Ian on one side of me and this other kid, Harvey on the other side. But he wasn't there yet. Everyone else in the class was talking.
The bell rang and Mrs. Junior walked in. "Good morning, class." she said. "Good Morning..." the class replied unexcitedly. Mrs Junior looked at us disappointedly, "Some of you seem tired. I hope this doesn't affect your work or we will have some problems, understood?" "Yes, Mrs Junior." the class replied.
Mrs. Junior made her way over to her desk and sat down in her chair. She was a big lady with quite an attitude. She didn't take excuses from anyone, not even her nephew that went to our school, Harry Junior. Today she wore her normal pantsuit that looked about four sizes too small on her. And c'mon! Pantsuits are soooo 1944! I looked over at Ian and he had the same expression on his face, a look of disgust at her outfit. I laughed in my head because I know "laughter is not tolerated in class".
Mrs Junior then decided to take the attendance. She began to call the names on the roll, "Annabelle, Carson, Harvey, Marcel, Ian, Diana, Georgia Rose, Amanda, Johnny, Larry, Jay, Molly, Karen, Louis, Kristen, and James." Everyone called out here except for one person... Harvey. I glanced and saw an empty seat next to me. Where's Harvey? It seemed like everyone had the same question as me. All the kids started talking and asking questions.
"Settle down," Mrs Junior commanded. We all responded as if she was an army commander or general or something. I mean that woman is scary. "James, do you know where Harvey is?" she asked calmly. James is Harvey's roommate (a/n this is a boarding school btw) so we assumed he knew where Harvey was. But he shrugged and answered, "I have no idea. I mean, we walked together out of our room but after that I don't know. He said he had to check something and that we'd meet up outside of class, but he never showed up."
That's so weird, I thought, Harvey would never do that. Mrs Junior's shouts interrupted my thoughts, "Jay, what did I tell you about listening to music in class? You don't want a referral do you? Listen to music on your own time." Jay then shout me a hateful glance, "I would if that one let me use the speakers in our room." I looked down. This is so embarassing! I can't believe that she said that. I thought we were friends. We have our ups and downs but she shouldn't embarrass me front of the class. Ugh! Sometimes I hate her!
Mrs Junior walked away from her and made her way back to her desk. "I almost forgot. We have a new student joining us today. His name is Mason. Mason, come on in." A really really really cute guy walked in the door. His brown hair fell into his amazing blue green eyes. He wore the traditional uniform but he made it look way hotter. I must have looked love struck because Ian made kissy faces at me. "Shut up!" I said and gave him a light slap. "Ow" he said sarcastically.
"Hi. I'm Mason."he said in a British accent. Swoon! "I'm here from England since my father got transferred." he continued. "Alright. Alright." said Mrs Junior, "Take a seat next to Amanda." He sauntered over to me and smirked. Did I mention I love guys who can smirk?!? He gave a bro fist thingy to Ian. "You too know each other?" I asked Ian. "Oh yeah! Mason is my new roommate since Daker moved out." he replied.
Daker was a horrible roommate. He was a total slob. He left all of his stuff everywhere! Ian was practically in hell. He can't stand messes. Daker and Ian never stopped arguing. And not only that once when I went to see Ian, he tried to kiss me! Ew! When he left last semester, it was like heaven on Earth.
For the rest of class I stole glances at Mason. He was so cute! I couldn't help myself, ok? A couple times I thought I caught him looking at me too. Yeah, not gonna happen. Well it's not like I'm ugly but I don't think a guy like that would go for a girl like me.
Suddenly the bell rang, and I made my way to cheer practice.
