Volleyball Practice

Colby's Point of view

I went to USC with Juliette for her practice. I sat on the bleachers, and watched her. I don't know if she was showing off for me or if she was just that good. Literally when she served the ball or spiked it nobody could hit it back, and her sets, and bumps were perfect.
"Okay guys we are gonna do a scrimmage, so I can see who will be on varsity, and who will be JV." The coach spoke. I crossed my fingers, and hoped Juliette would be varsity. She is amazing. She truly deserves it.
"Juliette, Anna, Brittany, Alex, Emily, Hannah, and Lillian, you guys go over to that side. Heather, Demi, Kalee, Sam, Amber, Tiffany and Jessica you guys go to that side." The coach said separating them.
"Juliette, Demi come here." The coach said pointing to them.
"Demi heads or tails?" She asked.
"Heads." Demi answered. The coach flipped the coin.
"It's tails Juliette you serve first." The coach said with a smile handing Juliette the ball. The coach blew the whistle, and Juliette done a jump serve looking thing. It was graceful, and powerful. Nobody hit it. She served like that about 5 times and the score was 5-0. I guess Juliette felt bad because the next serve she served it softly. One of the girls bumped it, and another one spiked it. It went to Juliette, she bumped it up, and then Alex missed the set. It was 5-1 now. The girls kept playing like this, and Juliette's team won 25-8. I'm assuming that will be the varsity team. Finally practice was over, and the coach was talking to all the girls. Afterwards Juliette walked over to me.
"I'm varsity." She smiled.
"I knew you would be." I smiled giving her a hug. She grabbed her gym bag, and water and we began to leave.
"Juliette. Can I talk to you for a minute?" The coach asked walking up to us. Juliette nodded.
"Of course." She replied.
"Okay I know this usually doesn't happen with freshmen, most freshmen don't even make varsity, but with the way you play, I would like for you to be varsity captain. I've never seen anyone with your kind of talent." The coach smiled.
"Really? Thank you so much. I would love to be captain." Juliette smiled.
"Good what number would you like?" Coach asked.
"15 please." Juliette replied.
"Okay. Also I'm ordering you a hoodie that says 'USC Volleyball Captain' on the front, and Juliette 15 on the back." The coach said giving Juliette a smile.
"Okay awesome. Thank you so much." Juliette smiled.
"Also who is this?" The coach asked looking at me.
"My names Colby." I answered her.
"He's my boyfriend." Juliette smiled grabbing my hand and lacing our fingers together.
"Aw okay, just remember no video cameras during practice." She instructed me, and then walked away.
"Let's go get some food." I told Juliette leading her to the door.
