Chapter 9 - The Mercalf's Proposition

"Stop, where you are!" One yelled and the two stopped.

"Look we don't want any trouble!" Cole told them, bravely standing in front of Amelia

"Nice tail missy" Smiled a boy just a few year's older than her, he had dark hair, hazel eyes and a green tail

"Look, we didn't come to hurt you, we came to make a proposition!" Spoke a guy with dark hair mixed with grey and red tail

"And what is it?" Amelia asked coming out from behind Cole who took her hand in his in a protective way

"Come with us! You're parent's don't care about you they abandoned you! Hated your gift so they took your tail and sent you away were you would never learn about it but the spell broke and there just gonna act like they love and care for you when they don't" The Earth wielder told her

"It's true" Said the fire wielder "I tried to stop him but I was to late you're tail was gone and a dolphin aided you're escape, they sent you away for not having the same magic as you're father and because they feared you for having more power than any of them ever had"

Amelia was silent, her mine was spinning she didn't know what to do, whether or not she should believe them

"Come back with us, We will treat you as an equal we will teach you how to use you're powers and we can all be happy, it be better than going back their with them and not being loved wouldn't it?" the shadow wielder told her

Cole looked at her, his eye brows knitted together and his mouth formed a lowercase o.

"Are you seriously considering this?" he asked taking Amelia's other hand so she would face him but she only pushed away

"I don't know Cole, My parents sent me away and i have no idea why! What if they're right?" Amelia felt her tear's stick to her face

"Which we are" said the earth wielder which caused the fire wielder to hit him across the chest

"Amelia, Do you trust me?" Cole asked taking her hand's in his as if to comfort her, Amelia nodded in reply "Than trust me when I say this.. These people aren't good people, They're evil, They call themselves the Mercalf's and they've been against the royal's and everything Merkia is since the war against the land folks"

"We are against them cause they abandoned a lot of people in those war's that's not right, and we should not be forced to stay inside a city because risk's, we need to take risks to gain what you don't have, you can never hide away and hoped not to be found! We deserve to be here as much as them" The shadow wielder spoke anger filling his voice as he clenched his fist electricity and sparks going all around his hand

Amelia's eye's widened pulling away from Cole as she looked at it "That's so cool!" the guy smiled at said it happens when he is angry.

"I agree with them Cole, It's not right! They shouldn't have left all those mermaids for dead.. And why stay hidden from danger? Maybe if you just proved that mermaid's exist? Than hide for so long and I could watch them see how they take it" Amelia smiled getting excited "And than maybe we can all live in peace?"

"that be amazing, great idea Amelia" Spoke the earth wielder smiling widely and putting an arm around Amelia's shoulder, but Amelia pushed it off as Cole struggled for his word's

Cole had no idea on how to convince her, he was at a lost for words and what they had said would've even convinced him if it wasn't for history class in mer-school, where they had seen video's of the announcements over the princesses death and the king, The tough guy nobody could break could barely keep himself together. The queen who had the shakes and took 20 minutes before she could even attempted to talk. It wasn't an act but the whole story about them having the castle door's shut to public and barely being seen for a full year make's sense. It was worse than death in a way and he wouldn't have been surprised if they pretended she was dead all these years. Because knowing that you're daughter was gone living with another family, not knowing if she's safe in their hands or not and just the fact that she is growing up and they cant see it. Everything they must have felt ran through his mind as he searched for an reply, something he could say or do to get her to stay.
