Chapter 14- The Ice Castle

It had only been 2 day into the journey and they've experienced a lot, they settled at the small camp each taking an hour watch, overall they each got about 5 hours of sleep before they had to be on the move again.

They had been swimming for about 2 hour's over the sandy bottom till they had gotten to the kelp wall. They would've been there faster but Amelia had stopped for a few breaks considering she wasn't use to swimming for long. But every stop she took she enjoyed watching the flounders resting on the bottom and seeing the unique shells scattered around, also surprised with all the sand dollars and muscles she have seen. She enjoyed the gift that was given to her.

"guys" Luna whispered nervously "The shark breeding grounds are on the other side.. Its filled with different kinds of sharks as well as different ages"

Amelia gulped "How long does it last?"

"About a 15 minute swim" replied Dean as if it was nothing but Amelia never liked sharks ever

"Don't worry about it" Rebecca smiled reassuring "they won't bother us"

"unless they sense fear" Dean mumbled causing Rebecca to hit her brother

"You will be fine, if you start to get nervous just squeeze my hand" Cole told her "You're brave! No fear can stop you"

'yeah' she thought nodding an okay 'I am brave, I can do this'

She toke a hold of Coles hand as they swam through the kelp, when they came out of the other side there were sharks everywhere and her bravery seemed to have melted away, she always had bad experience with sharks. Once when her and Tyler were fishing, as she reeled up the line she saw a small shark chasing the fish up, she ended up throwing the whole rod in and rushing Tyler to reel his in as she started the boat and slowly started moving when he had the rod in she didn't even wait for him to sit before speeding off to the wharf, she was that scared she didn't even care that the rod cost almost $90 bucks.

She lightly squeezed his hand but took a deep breath in and out before loosening her grip. When she seen the kelp border on the other side relieve and confidence filled her, that was until a tiger shark started swimming close to her she freaked out and let go of Coles hand and took off towards the kelp the shark followed her she swam straight for the abandon castle hiding around the corner, she sighed in relief

But when Cole touch her shoulder her heart almost jumped out of her skin.

"Sorry, I scared you." Cole replied "Want to explore the castle while we wait for the others?" we will probable rest up here since its not much farther away"

Amelia just nodded in reply as they searched the castle, it was made mostly of cement and reminded her of an old paper mill she visited once upon a time,

The walls were filled with random graffiti on the front but on the inside they found drawing's about the first Merand war's (that's what they called the war against merfolk's and land people), down stairs where the dungeons were located they found 3 cloaks made of kelp with a seal skin hood. Amelia, Dean and Rebecca wore them.

They laid on there seaweed blanket's telling stories of when they were growing up, Amelia loved hearing theirs just as much as they loved hearing her's, there world's were so different it fascinated them.

When she told them about the fishing incident they all laughed

"Hey Luna, what's something that funny happened to you?" Amelia asked the quiet girl who laid on her back after dean told his

"Sorry what?"
