|Louis|
When the bell rung I waited for the classroom to clear up a bit. Once half the class was gone, I got up from my seat and walked slowly to my locker. I already had gotten beat up once in this day, maybe they will get tired and leave me alone.
I find my way to my locker and open it, taking my time to put the numbers in correctly.
Once it opened, I took my backpack out and my books for my homework. I closed my locker and walked towards the exit.
Since I parked my car all the way to the end of the school's parking lot, I have to walk. At least I can take in the shapes of the clouds. I can take in how green the grass is. I can feel relaxed at least for a little while. It's all these little things that I wish I could enjoy more of. These little things make me feel alive.
As I continued to walk down the parking lot, I heard someone yelling from behind me.
"Louis!" The person yelled.
I turned around to see who the yells belonged to.
It was Harold.
Again.
He was running towards me. His face was red and he was panting. Once he catches up to me, he had to stop to catch his breath.
After a couple of seconds his breath comes back to rhythm slightly and he can finally talk.
"Are you alright?" I chuckle.
"I felt like I was in the Olympics." He pants a little more.
I laugh and shake my head.
"You look like you're about to pass out." I laugh even more.
"Oh be quiet! In my defense, you walk pretty darn fast." He laughs along with me.
By this time we are the only ones in the parking lot and we were laughing like idiots.
After our laughter died off Harold speaks up.
"Hey, I wanted to ask you if there is a bus near here." He licks his lip before biting it.
"Uhh.. No. I don't think so. I mean I never take the bus but I can give you a ride if you want." I shift uncomfortably.
Harold's face lights up and he nods.
"Y-yeah if it's not a problem for you. I could just walk home" Harold says.
"It's nothing really." I tell him.
He smiles a bright smile.
"Alrighty then."
I hop on to the drivers seat and Harry sits on the passenger seat. We ride in silence, except when Harold is telling me directions to his home.
"Turn right here." Harold says.
"I do as I'm told and we arrive to this beautiful rich neighborhood. I look around and feel my jaw drop when Harold tells me that he lives in the middle house, which is the biggest of them all. Oh, rich people.
Harold turns to me and opens his mouth to speak.
"Thanks for the ride." He smiles.
"Yeah, no problem." I nod.
"Well I gotta go inside, my mum must've waiting for me." I nod and give him a small smile.
"Bye Lou. I'll see ya tomorrow." He hops out of the car and walks towards the big luxurious white door. He turns around and gives me a small wave. I wave back and start the car to head back home.
Once I got to the front of my door, my hands started to shake. My keys fumbled when I tried to unlock the door. I was scared. I knew what was coming in a matter of seconds.
"Well...well...well look who decided to come back." His raspy drunken voice send a shiver down my spine. I turn around to see the face that's been haunting me since I was 8 years old. That person who is a real nightmare. That person who is suppose to protect me not beat me up.
"Well? Should it be the face today? I think it should. It's pretty damn monstrous anyways." He said cracking his knuckles.
