"Garnet, you look beautiful."
Steven held her hand as they strolled along the boardwalk casually, on their way to the next thing on his list.
"Promise me something?"
"Hmm?"
"Don't put your visors back on for the rest of the day. Your eyes are stunning. Everyone needs to see them. They will smile."
She looked at him and had the urge to squeeze him.
"Oph!"
Steven felt himself get scooped into warm arms and hugged tightly. And recently, it was his favorite place to be. In her arms.
"Okay, love."
He leaned into her chest and listened to the subtle, soothing sound of a gem's heart beat.
"Mmm," she hummed.
The vibrations rumbled from deep within her and jolted through his small body.
"I love you, Steven."
He picked his head up, curls brushing against her chin.
"I love you too, Garnet. So much."
Her full glossed lips pulled into the welcoming, loving smile, she and only she possessed.
"You don't have to do all this you know."
Just as he was about to lean his head against her once more, it shot up and scolded her. Colored eyes questioned.
"I want to do this for you. You deserve it. When was the last time you had relaxed and had time off?"
Her reply was hesitant.
Steven threw his hands up.
"Exactly!"
He made sure his eyesight leveled with hers, grasping the sides of her face. And looked her dead in the eyes.
"Today... It's all about you. You're going to have fun, and you're going to be happy."
She blinked her long eyelashes and stared at him. For a second, he thought she didn't understand.
Then she made a "duck face". Steven blinked. He studied her puckered lips and her eyes squeezed shut goofily. Her
eyes popped open and a deep meaningful laugh erupted from her very core. He lost it. And they laughed hysterically together, in the middle of the boardwalk, not giving a hair who was watching them.
This was why he adored her so much. Why he was so amazed at who the real "Garnet" was when she let her guard and "leader" down. She was breathtaking. The way her laugh sounded like a deep soothing melody. The way her eyes fluttered like butterflies with their flawless colors. The way she made him feel everything and nothing at the same time. The way she loved him so much.

"Now where are we going?" She asked, a bright new smile decorating her face.
"You'll see," he giggled and pulled her down to give her a powerful kiss on the cheek.
She smirked at him, a glint in her eyes.
"I see."

Short chapter. YESS. I know! This was just something cute. Something everyone needs to have in their lives. Especially now that school started. We need some love. A transition.
To the next chapter.
It will be surprising.
