Chapter One
The girls were on their favorite topic which was Alejandro. I like talking about Alejandro when it is gossip or drama but when it is about me and him. I hate it because it gets repetitive.
To proof my point Phoene said, "You can't say that you haven't thought of you guys together?"
I just acted like I couldn't hear her. I kept putting my books' in my locker and looked deeper into my locker. I've known Phoene since I was in primary. She didn't like me because I was mean. Her words not mine.
Then Gabriela continued the conversation with, "I bet that you dream of him in your sleep."
"You're stupid. I don't dream of him. I liked him last year for a day. So I don't know why you guys are still on this topic. " I sounded annoyed because I was.
The truth is that I still kind of like him a lot but they don't know that.
"Oh stop lying to yourself. You still like him." Gabriela said with that little smile that she gets when she thinks she's right.
Just as soon as I was going to open my mouth to tell them to change the subject. Alejandro came to his locker which was right next to mine. He started unlocking his lock.
I can believe that Alejandro almost heard what they were saying about him. I looked at them with a murderous look and he got his thinks' from his locker and left to go to class without a glance in our direction.
When he was in class, I turned to Gabriela and Phoene and said, "If you guys like your ugly faces, you won't talk about this anymore! I don't want to hear another word about Alejandro and me. You idiots. "
I got my things from my locker and I started to walk to class when I heard Phoene say, "Oh she's just saying that because she knows that she still wants him." I give up on them.
So I just kept walking to class. At my place, I put my things on my desk and sat down for my French class. I was looking in Alejandro direction.
He was not model pretty but normal person pretty. Alejandro had really dark brown hair that it almost looked black but when the sun hit his hair you would see the brown. He had brown eyes to match his hair but unlike his hair, he's eyes always have a shine to them. Alejandro is Mexican so his skin was naturally tan.
I guess that I was just staring at him for too long because he saw me looking at him."What?"
I got defensive and said, "Why? Can't I look at you? Do you have a problem with me looking at you?"
"No, I just wanted to know what part of my body you were daydreaming about."
I rolled my eyes. "Well, I was thinking about one part pacifically," I said this with a teasing tone.
"Athena?! How could you be thinking about that now? Don't you think that it's too early in the morning for does thoughts?"
"I just can't help the direction of my brain," I said this sarcastically.
"You're so dirty minded."
"I was thinking about how bad I feel for your old girlfriends' to have to deal with that ego of yours. Wait what were you thinking of?" I can not help from smiling at him.
I shook my head and tisk at him, "Now who's the dirty minded one here?"
Just as he was going to say something the bell ringed and our teacher started class. In his eyes, he was promising me that he was going to have his last word.
At the end of class, he finally finished his thought, "I'm only dirty minded when I'm talking to you and my old girlfriends all loved my ego." I didn't even answer him.
...
At the end of the day, I was putting my things in my bag to leave school. When Alejandro went to his locker to get his bag too. Closing his locker he leaned on it and looked at me.
"What?"
"I just wanted to tell you to have a good weekend." And he left me in shock because have was I suppose to have a good weekend with all the homework we had to do.
"You didn't have to stare at me to say that. Why is your bag so light?" At this point, I was practically yelling at him because he was at the end of the hallway.
"Oh, but looking at you makes it more fun!" He turned and left without answering my question. I knew that his bag was light because Alejandra does not do his homework.
Walking out of school I was talking to Gabriela when I saw him. He was talking to his ex. He was leaning into her, he had his hand on her waist pulling her in closer and he's head was nuzzling her neck. She was the one who left him and I was the one who was there for him. I just can believe that he's hooking up with this slut. Actually, I can believe it because that's just who he is. I'm so tired of being there for him.
I kept walking in the direction of my bus as if I did not see anything. Gabriela caught up to me and she said, "Are you ok?"
"Of course. Why?"
"Because he was all over her?"
"Why would I care? I just what to go home."
"Okay but..."
"But nothing."
"I hope you'll have a good weekend."
"Well, with the way it's starting out I doubt it but thanks," I whispered everything except the end.
I got on my bus and said hi to my bus driver. Walking to my place at the back, I sat down and put my headphones on my ears and I decided that I would stop being such a baby about him. At that moment I gave up on the idea of me and Alejandro because if I was being honest with myself it would never happen. If it did it would only end badly. I guess that it's taking me this long to realize it but now that I know there is no way in hell that there would be an Athena and Alejandro.
