Your thorns protect you
Like walls around one's heart
Perhaps you were once hurt
Or you saw one of you own dieYour petals conceal you
Like secrets in one's mind
Perhaps you are afraid
For maybe you've felt harsh windsYour beauty is fragile
Like innocence in a child
Perhaps it is why none must touch you
For then you've seen the truthYour roots run deep
Like one's fear of chance
Perhaps you found home
And being incorrect is not an optionYou're surrounded with your own
Like family is your everything
Perhaps you were once lonely
And now found loveYour much similar to a person
Like a person us similar to you
Maybe people use you as an example
Or maybe roses need someoneJust one special someone to teach them to grow
