It was a Sunday and Mingyu was over at Wonwoo's home, like usual. They were listening to Heize and Dean's "And July" while Wonwoo was reading his book. Out of nowhere, Mingyu groaned. Wonwoo looked over to his friend who was sitting in a weird position with his head touching the floor and his legs draped over the velvetty couch.

"What now, Gyu?" Wonwoo sighed as Mingyu kept on groaning throughout the whole song, making it impossible to hear the song clearly. "I'm just bored." He faked a cry while he said so. "I. Am. So. Bored. What is there to do?" He groaned in boredom once again. "Read books, sleep, or just listen to music." Wonwoo suggested as he adjusted his reading glasses and flipped to the next page.

Minutes later, Mingyu jolted up from the couch because he had come up with an idea. "What if..." He spoke and Wonwoo spared him a glance signalling him to continue, "What if we bring Soojung somewhere today?" Wonwoo paused from reading and felt his heart skip a beat. Nowadays, he starts feeling uneasy and often gets flustered when Soojung is around. Why? Well, even he doesn't know the reason.

"Wonwoo, Wonwoo. Woo." Mingyu waved his hand in front of Wonwoo's face, snapping him out his thoughts. "Ah, spacing out since forever." Mingyu complained, "But what about the idea? Genius, right? Actually, I really wanted to hang out with her today too."

"Yeah. Why not? Soojung's probably free today anyway." Wonwoo answered smiling a bit. He was trying to calm down his nerves and not show how overly happy he actually is. "Cool. I'll text her then." Mingyu grinned and started typing his text.

Mingyu
Are you free today?

Soojung 🐰
Yup! Why?

Mingyu
Let's go somewhere. Wonwoo, me and you.

Soojung 🐰
Sure! I'll get ready and let's just meet there.

Mingyu
Nope! We're picking you up. Wonwoo finally has his own car. Lol.

Soojung 🐰
Yayyy congrats to Wonwoo woo!! And yeah, I'll be waiting.

Wonwoo and Mingyu reached Soojung's house and they rang the doorbell. It was Eomonim who opened the door for them and they were also greeted by Melon, Soojung's Bichon Frisé.
*Eomonim - what you call the mother of a friend

"Hi! You must be Melon." Mingyu pet the dog's fur and rubbed its nuzzle while Wonwoo was slowly walking away from Melon, terrified. Eomonim went in the living room and told the two, "Boys, have some tea and cookies." Eomonim placed a tray of assorted cookies on the off-white coffee table and a tea set alongside it.

Soon, footsteps were heard from upstairs, sounding like they were hurried. "Sorry! I had to run an errand." Soojung apologized running down the stairs as she fixed her hair and straightened her skirt. For the first time in her life, Soojung was wearing a skirt along with a grey shirt.

As the two have been staring at her for quite a long time, she suddenly became self-conscious about what she looked like today. If only her mother hadn't forced her to wear a skirt, she would've worn denim pants or leggings.

Mingyu came to his senses after realizing that he had been staring. It was just that Soojung looked different today, in a good way. There were like flower petals falling and scattering the moment she stepped foot in the living room and everything around her stopped, even Mingyu's breathing and heartbeat. And at that moment did Mingyu see Soojung as more than a friend.

Wonwoo disrupted his thoughts when he complimented Soojung, "Beautiful," he whispered. Soojung didn't seem to hear it, "Wonwoo, what'd you say?" She asked nicely, flashing her pearly whites and her adorable dimples. "Um, you look beautiful." Wonwoo bashfully repeated, not meeting her gaze. Soojung was caught off guard but she took it as a compliment from a friend, nothing more and nothing less. Meanwhile, Mingyu was in defeat, he wanted to tell Soojung that she looked exceptionally beautiful today but he couldn't bring himself to do it.

"Nice car, Wonwoo." Soojung said as she got in the front seat. "Thanks." Wonwoo uttered, smiling awkwardly. "Are you sure you really wanted me to sit here, Mingyu?" Soojung turned to face Mingyu who was sitting at the backseat. Mingyu nodded to reassure her.

The ride seemed long to Soojung and she remembered that she doesn't have a clue on where they were going. "Yah, Wonwoo, where are we going?" She asked. Wonwoo shrugged his shoulders and grinned to himself. Soojung just rolled her eyes at him and went to ask Mingyu instead. She was expecting a proper answer but Mingyu just pouted and did funny faces to which she rolled her eyes to once again. Though, Soojung would be lying if she said she didn't find Mingyu's weird faces adorable.

After what seemed like weeks of driving, they finally stopped somewhere still unfamilliar to Soojung. Although the destination did seem fun. "A picnic at the beach sounds fun, right?" Mingyu peeked over to Soojung's side and she could feel her heart beating out of her chest at the moment. "Mm, that is fun." She quickly replied.

"If you think guys don't cook so why the heck are we having a picnic then, thank Mingyu for making edible food for today." Wonwoo told her while high-fiving Mingyu. "Y-yah. I wasn't thinking of that. I know very well that Mingyu can cook." That small sentence made Mingyu blush. He remembered that he was the reason Soojung started hanging out with them and that she likes him. For Wonwoo, however, he felt a pang of jealousy over this short statement. How he wished it was him and not his best friend.

Mingyu fished out the mat and laid it across the grass. They sat comfortably on the mat and conversed about the smallest things. When everyone had decided to eat, Wonwoo distributed the kimbap Mingyu hurriedly make this morning. Soojung took a bite and to her surprise, it wasn't as bad as she thought it'd be. "Mingyu, this is actually good!" She praised and Mingyu thanked her. "We have more food. Wait." Wonwoo took out fresh fruits in a container from the basket and Mingyu gave out cold water bottles from the cooler.

Overwhelmed by how much the boys had prepared, she smiled at them saying, "Mingyu, Wonwoo. Thank you. This means a lot to me." Her words warmed Wonwoo's insides and had him overflowing with joy as Mingyu felt the same way. "It's nothing, really. Just being with you alone is enough." Mingyu confided, melting Soojung's heart. "Ack, too cheesy." She joked but Wonwoo replied with a straight face, "We were serious about that." Soojung shook her head at the two of them and sighed, "Okay, okay. You got me. I don't say this often but," She took a deep breath, "I love you two very much and you are really amazing friends to me." Mingyu and Wonwoo chuckled at Soojung's confession and how adorable she was.

Please listen to Heize ft. Dean's "And July" and pretty much all of  Heize's albums too. She's v talented but underrated.

I swear I update this book more than Unknowingly which I haven't updated in decades 😂 also school starts next week so I'm trying to write as much as I can before I drown in the endless pile of school work.

Not sure if people actually read this but whatevs. I just want to say a few words of appreciation because why not? So um...thanks for taking your time to read this book (which probably sucks) and I'll continue to work harder to produce chapters worthy of being read.

k. bye.
