Travis' POV:
It was after school, and I had invited Cody over. He didn't really believe that my dad might adopt him, but he was still excited to meet him. He was literally bouncing around me as we walked down the sidewalk. "Do you really think he'll like me?" Cody asked for about the 100th time.
I laughed at how energetic he was, and said, "I'm sure he will." Cody chattered away until we got to my front door. Then he suddenly seemed to get nervous. I put my hand on his shoulder and said, "Don't worry. My dad is really nice. Besides, he loves kids."
"I'm not a kid!" Cody protested.
"You are to me!" I said.
"I'm only a year younger than you!" he retorted.
"What's all this noise about?" My dad asked, opening the door. Cody and I looked up at him. Cody let out a little squeak. I mean, I don't blame him. My dad does look a little scary. He's 6' 6", has black hair, violet eyes, and is super buff. He's a cop though, so it makes sense that he's strong.
"Hi, Dad!" I said brightly.
"DAD?!?" Cody whispered.
"This is Cody," I continued, motioning toward him. Cody waved.
"Oh! It's nice to meet you! Come on in!" Dad boomed. Cody flinched a little.
"Dad. Tone it down a little," I said as we walked inside. We went to the kitchen and I threw my backpack on the counter.
"Sorry," Dad apologized. He came over to the counter and leaned against it. "Do either of you want something to eat? I made muffins today. And by made I mean bought."
*Time skip brought to you by store bought muffins*
After Cody, Dad, and I had talked for about two hours, my phone rang. I could tell by the phone number that it was the orphanage. Cody had called them before we left school to tell them where to pick him up. "It's for you," I told Cody, and handed him the phone. He left the room to talk to them.
"He's such a nice boy. It's a shame he's had to live in an orphanage his whole life," Dad said with a thoughtful look on his face.
I grinned. "Oh, come on, Dad! We both know what you want to do. You've been thinking about it for years," I said.
Dad looked at me. "Would you be fine with sharing your room for a while?" he asked me. I nodded. "Hey, Cody!" Dad said a bit louder. Cody stuck his head back into the room. "Can I talk to them?" Dad asked and Cody handed him the phone. Dad walked out of the room.
"Why did he want to talk to the people at the orphanage?" Cody asked in confusion. I just grinned.

I really need to finish writing the third part. Eh, I'll do it in bed. I already have like half of it written, so I just need to write the rest.
Just a note: I write all of the chapters in a notebook first, so if Wattpad decides to delete half of a chapter like it did in my one-shot book, I don't get mad. JK, I still get mad. I mean, come on! I spent like twenty minutes writing that, and you just decide to delete it. WTH, Wattpad?
Sorry, I'm ranting.
