Cody's POV (Surprise!):
"You really didn't have to drive me, Mr.Valkrum," I sasid to Travis' dad when we got to the orphanage and walked inside.
"We wanted to," he replied, while Travis just grinned like an idiot. Miss Kiki was working the front desk, and Mr. Valkrum went over to her. I was going to go over there too, but Travis' phone dinged and caught my attention.
"Who's texting you?" I asked.
"Zane. He's a guy my friend Aphmau introduced me to," Travis replied, tipping his phone so I could see. "It's actually a chat group, so if you wanted to, we could make you an account so you could meet everyone in the chat."
I looked at him. "Really? Can we?" I asked.
"Yeah! We can do it back at the house," he said.
"Back at the house?" I asked in confusion.
He tensed up for a second, but then he said, "Yeah. You do want to come over again, right?"
"Definitely!" I said happily. Travis went back to texting his friend, and I started to daydream about how many friends I would make once I had my own account.

Travis' POV:
Phew. That was close.

CHAT
Lock: I almost gave it away...
One_Eye: gave what away?
Lock: My Dad's adopting a kid a year younger than me
Lock: he's my friend, and we want 2 surprise him
One_Eye: that's awesome! You'll have a little bro now, right?
Lock: yep
One_Eye: having a little bro can be a pain sometimes, but they grow on u
One_Eye: don't tell Vylad I said that
Lock: I won't
One_Eye: thx
Lock: Yet.
One_Eye: TRAVIS!!!!!
Lock: hehehehehehe

"Okay! It's all set up!" Dad said as he came over to Cody and I.
"What's all set up?" Cody asked.
"Mr. Valkrum here is going to adopt you," the lady at the desk said.
"R-really?" Cody asked. Dad and I nodded. He started to tear up. "I-I n-never thought that a-anyone would ever adopt me," he sniffled.
"Well, I'm happy to say that you were wrong," Dad said and smiled. Cody looked at both of us and, after a few seconds, hugged us.
"I'm sorry to interrupt this touching moment, but if you go get your things, you can go with them today, Cody!" the lady at the desk said.
"Really?" Cody squeaked in excitement. The lady nodded. Cody did a little happy dance, then he grabbed my hand and dragged me to the dorms.

Cody's POV:
Travis and I packed up my stuff and were about to leave, when Travis realized he had lost his phone. I asked him if I could help look, but he just said, "Don't worry, I can find it on my own. This happens all the time. Like, every day. I know how excited you are. Grab a few of your bags and take them out to the car. I'll bring the rest when I find the phone."
That's how I got into a bit of a situation. I was dragging two of my bags down the hall when someone slammed me into the wall. (Hey, that rhymed!) "So," the person said. "Finally being transferred to another orphanage, punk?"
"Actually, Zenix, I'm being adopted," I replied.
"No way. No one would want a freak like you." He tightened his grip. He pulled back one of his fists to punch me, and I closed my eyes, waiting for the blow to come. But it didn't.
I opened my eyes and saw Travis holding Zenix's fist. "He's no freak. You're a freak for wanting to hurt someone," Travis said. I swear I saw his eyes flash purple for a second. I think Zenix saw it too, because he started to back away.
Zenix was still trying to keep up his 'tough guy' act, so he said, "Who're you?" It didn't have the effect he was going for, though.
Travis just smiled and said, "Your worst nightmare." Zenix's eyes widened, and he turned and ran.
I looked at Travis in awe. "Wow..." I whispered.
Travis just picked up my bags as if nothing had happened, and said, "Let's go home."
I finally have a home...
