(This is a day after the last chapter. It's Friday night.)
Vylad's POV:
Zane was sitting on the couch, doing something on his phone. Like always. I wanted to know what he was doing, so I snuck up behind him and looked over his shoulder. It looked like he was on EyeText, but I couldn't see what anyone was saying.
Zane must have realized that I was there, because he turned around really fast. "Vylad. How long have you been here?" he asked me.
"About 45 seconds," I replied.
"Well, since you're here, and I don't think I'll be able to get rid of you, do you want to talk to Travis? He wants to introduce us to someone."
"Sure!" I said, a bit surprised. Zane usually didn't like to talk to people.
Why is he opening up now? Is it because of... Travis?
I wasn't paying attention, so Zane elbowed me when Travis' face popped up on the screen. Zane had found a way to prop his phone up on the coffee table, so that he didn't have to hold it.
Zane is soooooooooo lazy. Then again, so am I.
"Hey, Zane! Hi, Vylad!" Travis said.
"Hi!" I said back.
"Hello," Zane said. I could tell he was trying to stay emotionless, but I could hear the excitement in his voice. Apparently Travis couldn't hear it though.
"Aww. Are you back to being emo again, Zane?" Travis asked, pouting a little bit.
"I'm not emo! I just hate the world sometimes." Zane grumbled.
"Sounds like you're emo to me!" a new voice said.
"Wait. Who's that?" I asked.
"I'd like you to meet Cody. He's my new brother!" Travis announced. A boy with blond hair and green eyes jumped onto the bed behind Travis. The boy waved and smiled. I waved back.
"Yep," he said. "Travis' dad adopted me, and now we're BROTHERS!!" he yelled as he threw his arms around Travis' neck.
"Ack! You're choking me!" Travis yelled and acted like he was choking, then he started laughing.
I jumped up and yelled, "FINALLY!!!! Another person who's adopted!"
"Sit down, Vylad. The neighbors are going to think we're crazy!" Zane scolded as he pulled me back down on the couch.
"You're adopted?" Travis asked.
"Well, kinda. I'm only half adopted," I replied. Cody and Travis looked confused.
Zane took over explaining. "Dad got into an accident that somehow made it so he couldn't have any more kids, (I'll let your mind run away with that one!) but Mom wanted a third kid, sooo..."
"So biologically, I'm only half part of the family, which means I'm half adopted. That is also why I don't look like either mom or dad," I finished.
"Oh, okay. That's makes sense," Cody said.
"Biology is confusing," Travis said.
"I'm with you on that one," Zane agreed.
"You actually agree with someone, Zane?" I asked, looking at him. I turned back to the screen. "And biology isn't confusing. You just need to pay attention in class."
"Not everyone skipped a grade, Vylad," Zane reminded me. I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Wait, you skipped a grade?" I heard a familiar voice say. Someone grabbed Travis' phone out of his hand and angled it toward themselves. I saw familiar navy blue hair and gorgeous blue eyes.
Wait. Did I just say... GORGEOUS?!?!?!
"Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that Dante's here too," Travis' voice said from off screen.
DANTE?!?!?!
