After the two wizards left steven jumped from the bench before the window and started heading to the kitchen before something crossed his mind and he turned back to face the other gems "hey Emerald can you still eat normal food? I know amethyst dose but Garnet and Pearl prefer not to since it feels weird to them and they just get their energy from their gems"

"I don't know, I could try to eat something small" Emerald said as she got up to follow him to the kitchen while Garnet went into the temple leaving Pearl and Amethyst to sit at the kitchen counter.

"Alright here an apple should be just what we need to test this" Emerald nodded as she took the apple from Steven and took a bite out of it. After a bit of time to chew it she swallowed the pieces only shuddering a little as she actually felt her body breaking the pieces down and converting them into energy before it was absorbed so not the tiniest piece was wasted, it was definitely a strange feeling but not something that she couldn't get use to.

"It's okay, I could get use to the feeling over time but they're right it is  definitely a weird feeling, so what do you usually do around here?" Emerald asked as Steven finished making his own breakfast.

"Well first I'll finish breakfast then we can go and show you around beach city it's pretty fun there's the big donut were Larz and Sady work then we could go to fun land it's a great place to hang out" Steven sat at the counter talking as he eat his cereal when he was interrupted by Pearl as she got up to head into her room.

"Don't forget Steven Connie will be coming over later today so make sure you two are back by lunch time" with that she walked thru her door and into the temple.

"Come on Steven hurry up or there won't be enough time to take Emerald around the board walk" Amethyst said gaining wide eyes from Steven and a confused glance form Emerald as she turned to see the clock on the stove read nine am they would have three hours before this Connie person came over and she really doubted that simply showing her around would take that long but from what she had seen of Steven he was a very social person so it might take a while with him stopping to chat with everyone. A few minutes later the three of them were walking out of the house and down the path to the beach when a large spot of pink came into Emerald's line of sight, turning to get a better look at it she gasped as a large pink lion sat resting in the shade  under the stairs.

"Oh I see you noticed lion, yeah he usually just chills out most of the time but he's really cool about helping out when it's not nap time" Steven said as he looked to see what his new friend had seen. Emerald Alowed herself to be dragged down the beach as the thought of Steven owning or at least befriending a lion fully settled into her mind before being filled away as just another weird thing that her new friend had done that would pull them closer since surly he wouldn't have a problem with her talking to snakes if he had a lion. It took another few minutes before they were standing in front of the building with the big donut on the roof, Steven smiled up at her talking about all the good donuts inside taking her mind off the fact that this was the place the dursleys had abandoned her. Walking thru the door Emerald pushed the thoughts aside as they were greated by a shorter girl that was around Stevens hight with curly blond hair and a boy that stood a few inches shorter than herself thou it looked like he had shaved all of his hair off exept for a puffy strip on the top and in his ears were large circles so his ears would stretch.

"Ah  Steven who's your new friend?" The girl who was Sade if Emerald had heard Steven right when they were talking back at the house. Emerald smiled slightly as she waved at the two who looked to be having a hard time closing their mouths.

"I'm Emerald it's nice to meet you, Steven's been telling me some good things about you two" neither of them spoke for a bit as a deep red blush covered their faces.
