The mark

Chapter 9

As I saw him peer over the wall I could feel his grip get tighter. "Wha.." I stuttered, he quickly placed his finger over my lips, my eyes widened. He then turned back around and slowly moved around the corner he quickly stopped and let go of my hand, "stay back here let me go first I don't want anything to happen to you." he said quickly moving me back into the small room, but I put as much force as I could to stop him, putting my hand on his arms I looked up at him" I'm not leaving your side no matter what ok?" he gave a frustrated sigh and kissed my forehead "your so stubborn." I smiled and we headed back toward the bright hall way. As we got further in the hall still crouching we came up to two windows on each side of the wall, they were cloudy from what to look like finger prints and hand marks but there was also these strange markings on the edges. We stopped quickly as we heard a faint scream from someone on the other side. my heart skipped a beat and i moved closer to Matt, he wrapped his arms around me "it's ok baby just try to block it out." he said while rubbing my arm.He set up a little to see what was on the other sides of the window, I was scared to look but became even more terrified when I saw the look or terror on his face, but a seance of curiosity hit me like a hammer breaking down a plaster wall.I slowly placed my shaking hands on the rim of the windowsill and lifted my self up cautiously. My whole body was rushed over with a electrifying pain shooting all over."what..what is that? what is happening?" I looked at him quickly as he was still there in shock. "I..I don't know." He reached out and grabbed my hand pulling me closer to him. I looked back to the window seeing two old medal hospital beds inches apart with a young woman and man lying in them holding each others hands as these things that looked almost human but at the same time had this disfigured look to them were cowering over them. One of the of them was hitting their arms with this black pole trying to separate them, but no matter how many time they hit them they didn't let go. Tears hold down my cheeks as I kneeled there shaking.Matt put his arm slowly around me and I could feel him shake as well but he pulled me closer to him, he sat down bringing me with him.I laid my head on his chest and bust in to tears. he slowly squeezed me and kissed the top of my head and softly tries to clam me down,we sat there leaning against the wall not know what we should do and knowing we could not help those two people in there killed us insides but we both knew we would probably end up where they were because we had no idea what these things we capable of. He took a deep breath and pulled me away, he looked at me and wiped away the tears that were still falling like a sad summer rainy day. I looked at his eyes which we red and I wiped the tear that slowly fell from his face.He tried to smile to get our minds set on getting out of here but I knew he was struggling. I put my hand on his shoulder and leaned in to kiss him and right when i got a inch away from his lips we heard faint footsteps coming towards us, we both froze and had to make up our mind in a split second but right before we could do move this thing quickly stopped as it saw us. Matt pushed me behind him and put one arm in font of me he slowly whispered,"I love you baby."
