Chapter 10

His words echoed in my head as the creature just stood in front of us just staring at us with its beautifully crisp blue eyes.Matt slowly started to stand up,i got up with him as my knees started to shake, fearing that I would fall I held onto his shoulders. He placed his right hand on top of my hand but not leaving eye contact from the creature making sure it didn't come close to us.

"What if its not trying to hurt us?" I whispered softly into his ear.

"What makes you think that, didn't you see thoughts people in there?"

I cleared my throat knowing he was right but at the same time if this creature was going to hurt us wouldn't it of done something by now? But just then the creature muttered "Tara"and started pointing at its self.

I blinked quickly, I slowly pointed to my self and said "jess." I smiled softly as she tried to repeat it but i could feel matts body tense up she slowly came towards us with her arm out motioning us to her.

I let go of his shoulder and moved in front of him, he quickly grabbed my arm to pull me back but I resisted and pulled away from him. "what are you doing get back here!"

I looked back at him, his face was filled with fear and anger I slowly took a small breath "what else are we going to do Matt there's no where else to go."

Just then we heard foot steps coming towards us, tara quickly turned away to look around the corner, I looked at Matt but he just looked forward at tara and just then she walked to the noise and vanished. Matt slowly walked to where she had gone and peered around the corner to see nothing but empty halls with windows going on and on for miles.He backed up into the hall we where in and turned towards me and grabbed my arms, he took a deep breath "if we want to make it we have to stick together ok?, you can't be doing stuff like that"

"what were we going to do Matt? just stare at her?"

He sighed and looked down, "I.. I just don't want you to get hurt.."

I looked at him and kissed the top of his head and hugged him. "nothing is going to happen to us as long as we are together." he pulled away and smiled and softly kissed my lips and as we were standing there our lips locked together, tara came up to us quietly without either one of us noticing. She placed her hands on our face, we jerked back out of surprise and Matt pulled me away from her but I moved back next him.He looked back at me and pressed his lips together not crazy about this idea. I grabbed his hand and looked back at tara as she was motioning us to her. We slowly started to follow her down different halls, trying to keep quite as we passed different windows with other creatures in them.My heart dropped every time I would hear a faint scream of someone in pain.Matt looked at me as we were walking and squeezed my hand telling me that everything was going to be ok. But just then a door opened right in front of us, we quickly stopped out of shock. Tara looked back at us as her eyes turned from a crisp blue to a deep black and then faced back to the door, she motioned us to go into a different hall but right before we could get to it another creature came out, it stopped and looked tara then at us.Not knowing what to do we stood there holding each others hands. The creature looked at tara and hit her as it muttered something, my heart skipped a beat as it hit her,The creature stared at us and yelled something and just then a loud siren poured into the halls.Matt pulled me closer as we saw a swarm of other creatures came rushing to us.My heart started to beat faster than a race horse.I looked at Matt to see that he was looking at something on the wall that looked like the same type of metal pole that the one creature had.I knew what he was planning to do but I knew it was a bad idea, we were out numbered but a lot. I tugged on his arm to try to get him to look at me but just then he quickly grabbed the pole.The creatures were now surrounding us. "I'm going to create a distraction and you run ok?" he whispered softly. I looked at him and scrunched my eyebrows together, "I'm not leaving you Matt, were going to make it through this together" he took a deep breath and let go of my hand. My eyes widened but before I could do anything he ran towards the main creature screaming "FUCK YOU ALL!" I tried to grabbed his hand but just then my heart stopped as I saw the creature hold out a sharp spear and stabbed Matt in the stomach.I could feel my heart being torn apart, I rushed towards Matt but the other creature stopped me before I could get to him and picked me and put me over its shoulder.I kicked and punched it taking every inch of my energy to get lose to get to Matt. I looked at him laying on the ground in a pool of blood reaching his hand out towards me.I held out my hand before I felt a sharp pain in my back and everything went black.
