Dr. Harleen Quinzel massaged her temples as she took a deep breath, her patients were not easy to deal with
Some are violent, some are rough, some are funny and some are just totally insane!
She laid back on her chair and closed her eyes, she remembered her first patient; Poison Ivy
Geez that woman is too devoted
Harleen never thought that you could be so obsessed with nature and you ended up dyeing your skin green, tattoo your legs and arms with ivy leaves and tell to everyone that the earth has consumed your soul and body
She's one hell of a crazy
-After 4 months of working in the Asylum, 8 patients were confirmed to be cured and was now permitted to leave Arkham and have a life, all of them were handled by Dr. Harleen Quinzel, there was something in her that gave her patients hope, that she looks with no judgement and you can see the sincerity in every word that she says, she was now an asset to the asylum. Her name became known as one of the manipulative doctors here in Arkham, smart enough to play a game with the mentally insane.
The psychiatrist was busy typing reports in her laptop when Dr. Joan Leland entered her office
"Do you have something for me?" She smiled
"Mr. Arkham wants you to drop all your patients that you are handling right now" Harleen raised her eyes to Dr. Leland with a worried look
"I hope nothing is wrong?" The doctor
gave her encouraging smile and handed her an envelope"He wants you to handle a special case, it's either a good news or bad news for you" Dr. Joan excused herself as Harleen nodded and thanked her
A special case? I wonder if Ivy is not special
It's either good news or bad, but Harleen can sense it was both, she carefully unsealed the envelope and scanned the pages
"Shit" she almost lost her balance in her chair and tries to fix her glasses
Shit shit shit
As a trained psychiatrist and a licensed professional here in Arkham, Dr. Quinzel has lost all her ideas on how to handle The Joker.
-
She sat silently in her office and let her mind accept the fact that she will be handling the murderous and psychopathic clown and still be alive by dawn, she took a deep breath and let her thoughts run in her head again and againI can fix him, I can cure him
Harleen was starting to consider herself that she is one pathetic liar.
She opened the drawer near her table and took a file where all the information she needed is stored, The Joker's past doctors states that he had an abusive father and an absent motherThe reports seems consistent but some are contradicting, yet repetitive
She felt a wave of sadness rising fron her chest, painful memories that she tried to forget for a long time but kept resurfacing
My parents died when I was seven, they will never come back
Her eyes started to water as she remembered every vivid detail
They were murdered in our house, in my own very eyes
A robber entered our house, my parents were in the living room as I woke up when i heard a gunshot, i headed down stairs as i saw my mom kneeling in front of a man's knees, she was begging and crying as I saw my dad lying lifeless on the floor, the man smiled devilishly and mercilessly shoots my mother.
She closed her eyes as a tear rolled in her cheek. She remembered her mom kissing her forehead and her dad carrying her in his shoulders
The pain is too unbearable
Harleen tried to forget those painful memories, she cannot let the Joker know that they had the same fate
He will use it against you, no weakness to be shown
She grabbed a pen and started to write down in her notebook the possible ideas, questions and theories she will use for tomorrow
How could someone be hurt ended up leaving his past identity and form a new one? And how didn't I ended up like him?
And here she was, exhausted of trying to find answers in her thousands of questions but one thing is for sure; inside the Joker's psychopathic mind is a lost, tortured soul hidden beneath.
And in order to cure him, it must be released.
