Hey guys while reading this chapter you can listen to I Put a Spell on You (Fifty Shades of Grey Version)
XXX
The weather was cold and Harleen was staring at the only window in her office, she came here early yet the sky seems to be dark, thoughts were running through her head, she was frustrated and confused after what happened yesterday, the psychiatrist doesn't know how to handle her patient anymore and she felt manipulated after the incident yesterday
He fucking knows everything about me
The logical, scholarly side of Dr. Quinzel streamed into her consciousness and reminded her that this is what The Joker was expecting to happen
He wants to break me so I could run like everybody else
She is not planning to give that satisfaction to him. She will not let him win, she will continue this therapy even if deep inside she wanted to to scream and be re assigned to another patient
He is human, he can be fixed.
-
Harleen swiped her key card as the metal doors swung open, her eyes were always fixed to the only person assigned to this cell, and once again she felt her breathing stopped everytime she sees her patient.
"Looks like someone can't get enough seeing me" he smiled radiantly
Oh he's such a tease
The psychiatrist decided to play with his game, she smiled sweetly and grabbed a seat
"Good Morning patient 1005"
"How thoughtful" he said sarcastically
"How are you feeling today?" Harleen took a pen and a pad to write down everything he says
"I feel so great today, especially when I see your eyes doctor, it is so breathtaking" Harleen bit her lower lip to restrain herself from smiling
"Flattery will get you nowhere"
"Oh Harleen, I already got under your skin" he said in a deep, throaty manner, everything he says was always accompanied by an erotic, breathy undertone
Fuck
"Patient 1005, as I told you before you will always refer me to as Dr. Quinzel, other names are prohibited, now let's start our Session 3 shall we?" She raised her eyes to the bridge of his nose, a devilish smile was playing in his lips as he leaned closer
"I've been looking forward for it Dr. Quinzel, our last session was so memorable" those words has set her on fire inside, she fisted her hands to control her temper as The Joker let out a psychopathic laugh which sends chills directly to her flesh, it was scary yet captivating, even if her patient annoys the hell out of her, Harleen always find the Joker mesmerizing. Without realizing the next words she was about to say- it already split from her mouth
"What happened to your appearance?" her patient suddenly stopped laughing and gave her an amusing look
"Oh so inquisitive doctor" he leaned forward, examining her eyes
"Did you dyed your hair and skin? Tattooed your arms and legs?" She insisted, she was too desperate to know
"Want to see them all?" He grinned as Harleen blushed with that thought
"Patient 1005, answer me"
"I was born this way"
"No one is born that way, why did you dye your skin?"
He threw his head on the chair as he laughed like a psychopath that he is
"Not everyone is designed in the same way doctor, we don't have to look all the same, Everyone is weird, we should all celebrate our individuality and not be ashamed by it" his wicked smile never escaped his lips
"So you honestly believed that you were born with a bleached white skin and lime green hair?" she raised her eyebrows
"Do you honestly believe that you are helping me in any way?"
Harleen raised her eyes to the bridge of his nose and shot a deadly glance towards him
"Do you honestly believe you can be helped in any way?"
"Then why are you here?" He grinned devilishly as Harleen was caught off guard
Damn he's right again
"I believe I don't need help darling, I was thrown in here because i'm different"
Different
Different
Different
She felt a pinch in her heart when he said that
People reject us when we are different
Harleen remembered once again that the 'Joker' was just a cover up from what he truly is, someone who has been hurt and felt unloved
"Doctor, still there?" He ran his tongue against his teeth as it formed into a smirk, she avoided his eyes and looked down to her notes
"Patients avoid confrontation by diverting attention. Classic denial or refusal of admittance."
"Then why don't you look at me in the eyes for once doctor"
The way he spoke those words caused all the blood in her face to drain, her heart was pounding wildly
How could he tell that I wasn't looking right at him?
She used the nose trick because she didn't want to give the satisfaction that there was a connection between him and her, but here he was demanding what seems to be contradicting from what she wants to happen, she doesn't want to look weak yet she was fucking terrified by him, instead Dr. Harleen Quinzel took a deep breath as her eyes shifted directly to his. And she already knew in that very moment- that it was the worse mistake she had ever made.
She was lost into another world, she would tell you about his eyes but she can never quite capture the depth in their explanation anyway, she knows that in the moment she breaks her stare she'll forget what it looks like because hers can't stay away from it for too long, what she will tell you is how she is absolutely infatuated with the way he exists so beautifully to her, she fell in love with the way time seems to exist everywhere except between them, she keeps getting lost in his eyes and she hopes she can never find her way out.
Harleen was torn out with her inner thoughts when she heard him whisper in an undeniably low, husky voice
"Good girl"
