Chapter 9 - Leaving

Charlie's POV

It was one day before flying to Europe and I was very excited. Traveling the world is so much fun and I love it, but this time I was sad to leave, because of Callie. She became a really close friend and we've spent so much time together in the last weeks.

We were at my house and I sat on my bed while Callie was lying with her head on my lap. I played with her chocolate brown hair, thinking about the next 4 weeks I'm gonna leave her alone. I knew she doesn't have many friends and that Linda couldn't be there for her. Maybe it was good to leave, so she could make new friends instead of hanging out with me. She shouldn't waste her time for a celebrity that doesn't really have much time or privacy. Most of my friends don't see me often.
"Hey Callie, maybe you could try and make new friends when I'm not here ok? Can you promise me that?" I asked her.
No answer.
"Callie?"
I looked down to her face and her eyes were closed. She was probably really tired after work and she came here just to see me again before I leave. Now she's sleeping. I took her head off from my lap without waking her up and got ready for bed. I brushed my teeth and took off my shirt. Callie was sleeping on my bed and my bed is very big, so I just laid next to her.
I had to get up really early the next day to catch my flight. So I guess I need to wake her up then, because we're all leaving the house. While I was thinking about a lot of things, I fell asleep.

I woke up at 5am and got ready to go. Callie was still sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up so early so I brushed my teeth, took a shower, put on some comfy clothes, and checked my suitcases and bags, if I got everything. I walked back into my bedroom and woke Callie up.

"Good morning sweetie! It's time to wake up," I said to her and sat down on my bed. She slowly opened her eyes stretched her arms.
"Oh, it's so early! And... Wait...I think I fell asleep last night, oops. I'm sorry I didn't want to..."
"It's ok. Sorry for waking you up so early but I need to get my flight and you have to leave the house when I'm going to the airport. I can drive you to your home before I leave," I said.
"Ah yeah. You're leaving. I almost forgot. Let me come with you to the airport," she looked a little sad at me.
"No, you need to sleep," I answered.
"Oh please Charlie, let me come with you," she begged at me.
I couldn't resist it.
"Yeah, okay," I gave up.

Thirty minutes later, we both sat together with Jonathan in a taxi to drive to the LA airport. When we arrived there, I insisted to order a coffee at Starbucks and of course Jonathan didn't say no to coffee. So after we all got a coffee I ran into some fans and took pictures with them. The rest of the crew was already waiting for us and we checked in. They all already knew Callie and I was glad they're good with each other.
My crew and I had to go through the security check and it was time to say goodbye to my best friend, although I haven't known her for long.
"So,.... I guess it's time to say goodbye. I'll miss you," I said to Callie.
"I'll miss you too. Have fun in Europe and then come back to tell me everything. And you have to FaceTime with me if you have time," she said and smiled, but I could see the sadness in her face.
"Charlie!! Come on!" Asaf, my drummer, shouted.
"I'm coming, give me a second," I shouted back.
"I will," I replied her and hugged her tightly. We hugged for a long time. I'll miss her a lot. Her face, her laugh, her smell, her voice. Just being with her.
"Bye Charlie," she said from my back.
"Bye... I have to go now,"
"Yeah," she said.

"I love you," I whispered in her ear before I quickly pulled out of the hug, turned around and walked over to the security check.
I didn't have the courage to look back to see her reaction.
