Callie's POV
Looking down to the floor, I walked into
"THE CAKE BAKERY", the place I work at.
It was a little bakery with white, light blue and pink walls. The delicious smell of baked dough and butter frosting came into my nose."Hello Callie!" Miranda said to me from behind the counter. I just nodded because I didn't want to get too much attention and went straight to the kitchen.
Miranda was working here since I started and she obviously doesn't like me. She doesn't act like that, but I can hear it in the tone she's talking with me and to be honest I don't like her either. Just because she is older than me and Louis and has more experience, she acts like she's the best. I think she's in the early thirties, I'm not sure though because I avoid talking to her.I took off my jacket and grabbed my apron. Louis was already there and was currently doing the piping for some cupcakes.
"Hey," he smiled at me and I smiled back.
"Hi Louis.""Callie, you have to put your hair up!" Miranda just came into the room and yelled at me.
"Yes," I said annoyed and rolled my eyes, making sure she didn't see it. Louis smirked.
"We have a lot to do for today. There are three big orders and Callie could you please do the fondant decorations for the birthday cake? That would be great.
Louis when you finished the cupcakes, please make the dough for the lemon cake," she commanded us while I slowly tied up my long hair into a bun and I was totally aware that you could easily see my hickeys.Hopefully no one will notice the marks...
Or at least not Miranda.
Why is this so embarrassing?!She walked out of the kitchen to serve the customers. I was about to start working and felt Louis stare at my neck. He raised his eyebrows but didn't say anything and I just acted like nothing happened.
Crap I hate Charlie for this. Why Charlie?! Whyyy???
My inner self was crying and complaining and I tried to ignore that and focused on my job.
After a few hours, Miranda walked in again and looked how we were doing. She watched me decorate the cake and it made me a little nervous.
"Oh Callie, I think there's some food coloring on your neck," she said and I slightly winced at her words.
"Umm... That's not-... Eh....Thanks for the advice," I said quietly.
I could literally feel Louis huge smirk behind my back.
"I don't think it's food coloring, Miranda," Louis laughed and I gave him a very angry stare. How dare he is??!!!
"What?" she asked confused.
"Never mind," he said and hardly held back his laugh.
"Well, you should keep on working," she said to him and offendedly strutted away.Louis started laughing and even though I was mad at him, I had to laugh too.
"Yo- you have.... Fo- fo- food coloring.... On.. Your ... Neck..," he quoted Miranda and could barely speak a whole sentence because he laughed so hard.
"How dare you are to tell her it's not?!" I yelled at him and tried to stop laughing. He was so hilarious.
"But I'm right," he said and slowly started to calm down.
I sighed and turned back to the cake.Louis became a good friend, we always have fun at work and we both team up against Miranda who acts like she's the boss.
I was thankful that he didn't ask me out like Linda did.It was a few minutes before closing and we were cleaning up, when the door opened, and the little bells that were above it, jingled.
"Hello," a deep, familiar voice said and I immediately knew who it was. Of course I know how could I not recognize this voice."Oh my gosh, you are Charlie Puth?!" I heard Louis shout out in shock.
