Chapter One: An Extraordinary Ordinary

I wake up to snow Monday morning. I dress in my usual dark jeans, black t-shirt, and boots. After deciding to leave my hair in its natural curls, I grab a jacket and out to my car. Drive to school, go to the locker, talk with friends, and go to class. Everything is normal. Except, last night, I had a dream.  It was just of a boy. Around my age, maybe older. He wore all black and had black hair that covered his forehead. I couldn’t see his face because he was wearing a masquerade mask that covered his face. It was just black with a single white teardrop under his emotionless grey eyes. He said only one thing, “Its coming,” and then he disappeared. It was nothing, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I know I should have told someone I had a dream, considering I’ve never actually had one before, but it was just so bizarre that I couldn’t come up with a way to tell anyone. Besides, it was probably just my groggy brain making imageswhen I woke up. So I decided to sit through the rest of the day in silence. When Ceramics came around at the end of the day, I was exhausted. So instead of playing with clay, I decided to take a nap.
