Peter POV
We looked around and realised that we were no longer stood in the musky train station but in fact in a bright cave. Happiness consumed me as I realised I was home. We all walked out of the cave in awe. I saw white sandy beaches, and the crystal clear oceans. Memories flashed through my mind as I looked around the scene in front of us. There was no doubt in my mind that we were home, we were in Narnia.
Before I knew it we were all running into the sea. I took off my ridiculous blazer and scratchy jumper, then wrestled with my tie before diving into the familiar warm ocean. We, my siblings and I, were all jumping around and splashing each other, relishing in the joy that we were back. I had waited too long to be back, to have all my power and authority back in my hands.
Suddenly the smiled dropped from Edmunds face and was replaced by confusion.
"What is it?" I asked him.
"Where do you suppose we are?" He countered.
"Where do you think?" I replied. Now he was being crazy, how could he not know where we are? Could he not remember the amazing way the sun kisses your skin without the worry of getting burnt or the calming crash of the blue oceans waves?
"I don't remember any ruins in Narnia." He stated. Each of us followed his gaze and saw ruins of what may have been a castle, hanging off the rock face. It seemed that even the slightest tap would send the whole thing tumbling down.
"Where did Adelaide go?" Lucy questioned as she looked around us. Then I noticed that she wasn't here. Suddenly the calming ocean didn't seem as bright as before, the sun seemed to be heating my wet clothes faster, and Narnia didn't seem at all familiar.
"Maybe Aslan sent her to him so he could catch up with his daughter." Susan suggested. We all accepted this. Although something gave me a funny feeling that she wasn't as safe as we hoped. One thing began to fill my mind. We had to find Addy.
Adelaide POV
A sudden pain woke me. I realised then that someone had thrown me onto a hard, cold floor. I stood and noticed my dress was gone as was my crown and I now stood in a brown skirt that reached mid shin and a simple white shirt with holes torn through for my wings to fit. I then noticed my wings were tied together many times with rope, much like my hands that I observed were tightly bound with rope that was cutting into my skin. My surroundings consisted of many shocked faces, all belonging to men, and a dwarf tied up in front of me as well as a man standing up and smirking malevolently at me.
"You forget my Lords, that Narnia was once a savage land. Much of our fore fathers blood was shed fighting these vermin off, and exterminating the threat." The man standing announced.
"How dare you! Narnia is not a savage land, and we are not vermin. How dare you address the high Queen of Narnia as vermin!" I sternly spoke to him with a raised voice. Every man gasped at my outburst.
"See! While we have been bickering between ourselves, they have been breeding like cockroaches under a rock." He continued.
"Never speak about me like that. You vile man. You have no right to any authority in Narnia, or over its people." I snapped at him. This caused the man to send a hand across my cheek. The impact landed me on the floor. I caught eyes with the dwarf that looked both stunned and worried.
"They are growing stronger. We all know of the legends and the stories. Here we have a dwarf and the legendary Guardian Angel, Queen Adelaide. If she is here, then the Narnians will want her back. This gives us the edge. With her, I intend to strike back harder. Even if I have to cut down the entire forest to find the rats or if I have to spill royal blood to end this problem once and for all." The man hissed. Then hands grabbed me, causing me to scream as I was pulled out of the room.
I was thrown into a cell with the dwarf in the opposite cell. The doors were locked and the guards left. Cautiously, I approached the bars. I touched one and jumped back from it hissing at the pain. Surely enough the bars were iron, and we had discovered that all Angels are hurt by iron as it burns and weakens them.
"My lady, are you ok? How did you return? Are the other Kings and Queens of Old with you?" The dwarf said. I sat up slowly, trying to ignore the red mark that was showing on my hand.
"Yes, I am fine thankyou. I do not know how I am back in Narnia, my best guess would be someone called us back. As I am here, I would assume the others are here also." I relied civilly. The dwarf nodded.
"What is your name, brave dwarf?" I asked.
"Trumpkin, Your majesty." Trumpkin answered.
"Well Trumpkin, I request you call me Addy, there is no need for formalities in this situation." I explained. With a nod, our brief conversation ended.
My cell consisted of plain, cold floor, straw under foot, a small window, and iron bars. Minutes had rolled into hour. A day of little food and little water, only enough to keep us alive. Trumpkin and I exchanged some conversation of what Narnia has been like when we all left; also we spoke of the times when we ruled. Trumpkin filled me in about how the Telmarine soldiers invaded and destroyed Cair Paravel. When the sun was no longer visible a guard entered the dungeon.
"Queen Adelaide, the King wants to see you." Sarcasm dripped from the mans voice as he said my title.
I was forced into a room with a splintering wooden table and many mysterious instruments made of iron. On a wooden chair in the corner sat the man, I had learned from Trumpkin, was called Miraz, a man of whom had just been crowned king. His sinister glare made my breath hitch.
"Tie her to the table." He commanded. I struggled but to no avail. Before I knew it all my limbs were tied to the table.
"Tell me where they are hiding!" He shouted. I assumed he was referring to the Narnian survivors.
"I do not know, and even if I did I would never tell you!" I snapped back. His eyes burned with a fire I had only seen once before. The eyes of a born killer. The eyes that had been destroyed by my own father.
"Tell me where they are hiding!" He countered, holding an iron knife to my throat. A scream tore through my body as the iron burned into my skin. The confused face of Miraz didn't go unnoticed.
"I don't understand?" Miraz turned to the guard in the room.
"Angels are burned by iron, sir." He responded. The look those eyes gave me next was something that was burned into my brain, like the imprint of the knife was now scarred onto my neck. As Miraz pushed his own iron sword to my wrist, I screamed one thing.
"PETER!!!!"
