Chapter One: Battle Scars

"Naruto!" Kakashi yelled, "Cover me!" Naruto turned, his foot skidding across the ground, and the wind had begun to pick up, giving off a eerie feeling. Naruto could sense, something was clearly off about the masked Madara and the other Shinobi, claiming to be the real Madara.

Naruto breathed in the cold air, tightening his lungs, making it hard to breathe, he could feel Kurama get even more restless as the battle began to ensue a more darker path. Naruto picked up his pace and began to run, covering Kakashi's tweleve o'clock, Bee at his six.

The white Zetzu's had begun to entrap them, grouping them all into a tight group, Inoichi had explained reinforcements where on their way but it was going to take about an hour for them to get to the battle grounds.

Kakashi sighed, his shoulders heaving as he did so, "By the time reinforcements arrive, we might be dead." Bee groaned, "Don't think so shallowly, Kakashi." Kakashi chuckled a bit, "I'm being rational here, there's thousands of them and only four of us, if you count the Nine Tails."

"You haven't changed a bit, Kakashi." Madara cackled, "Always thinking professionally." Kakashi raised an eyebrow, "How would you know?" Madara seemed to shift a bit, "I know you better than anyone here, Kakashi." Kakashi took in a shallow breath of air, "How is that when this is the first time, you and I have officially talked?" Naruto knew that if Madara wasn't wearing the mask, that he would've been able to see the wide, grin on his face.

"Oh, Kakashi. I'm sure you've figured it out by now.... How your and I's chakra's seem to collide and how our Sharingan seem to be the same." Madara laughed.

"Where did you get your eye from?" Kakashi questioned, "I was born with it." Kakashi seemed to be deep in thought, "I still don't get it.." Kakashi trailed off, taking in his surroundings.

"I once was a knuckle headed ninja like Naruto, an Uchiha that seemed like he'd never get his Sharingan, a loser. You and I fought often and Rin was always stopping us. I died saving you, gave you my eye, that I had just awakened not even fifteen minutes before, as a gift for you becoming a Jonin, and this is how I get repaid." Madara's words where like venom, the poison coursing through everyone's veins.

"O-Obito?" Kakashi's voice sounded weak, like he had just seen a ghost. "Ah, so you remember me now?" Obito said taking off his mask, revealing his face, the right side noticeably scarred, his mouth twisted into a sinister, amused smile.

"Hello, Kakashi." Obito said spitting his name out like nails on a chalkboard, Obito's eyes shifted to Naruto, looking even more terrifying then before. Naruto went pale, uncomfortable about the whole situation.

"Naruto Uzumaki, the son of  Minato-Sensei, eh?" Obito chuckled, "Leave, Naruto out of this!" Kakashi hollered back, making Obito look back at Kakashi.

"It's your own fault that this war is even happening right now, Kakashi!" Obito spit back, making Kakashi do a double take, "You mean..... Rin... Don't you?" Kakashi said, his head hung down, looking at his feet, as if the girl's name brought him, great pain.

'Kakashi-Sensei?'' Naruto looked and wondered what had happened between the three of them, to start a war.

"You killed Rin, in cold blood!" Obito shouted, pain clearly in his voice, and it seemed like he was seconds from crying, Kakashi's face twisted into anger, "I DIDN'T!" Obito's eyes began to twitch with fury, "YES, YOU DI-" Kakashi interrupted Obito mid-sentence, "NO, I FUCKING DIDN'T! SHE JUMPED IN FRONT OF MY CHIDORI!" Obito shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his face twisted in frustration.

"No.. She didn't.... Why would she do such a thing?" Obito yelled, "She was kidnapped, and had the three tails sealed inside of her, she was branded with a curse mark by her captors, I rescued her and later she figured out why she had been made a jinchuuricki, they put the curse mark on her, so that when her and I arrived back to Konoha, the three tails would be set loose. She was unable to take her own life, and asked me to kill her, and I said no... I told her, that I promised you to protect her by all means necessary, and I was going to keep my promise. Later, I was in battle with an enemy Shinobi, I had just unleashed my Chidori and she intercepted it..... Obito I didn't want her to die..." Kakashi chocked out the last sentence, Obito shifted with rage.
