Though the object in his hands was dusty and old, the weapon would do the trick.

Gripping the kunai, Kakashi knew what he had to do.

I...I have to.... This is the only way... I have to do this for him.

A voice crawled its way through Kakashi's mind, put him out of his misery.

Kakashi

Kakashi sucked in a breath of cold air, the burning in his lungs almost unbearable, but the pain in his chest over exceeded even his physical pain; Kakashi had grown old, sick, and distant.

Not even Gai could talk to him anymore, Kakashi shut everyone out, ever since...

The accident....

It was a cold night in Konoha, the world seemed to be sad, and gloomy just like Kakashi; not even the small village could stand being without the knuckle-headed brat that once terrorized its streets with pranks.

By this time, it was Naruto's third year anniversary of being gone, and the world seemed empty without Naruto; like the world itself had lost all meaning.

Kakashi told himself it wasn't his fault, he told himself that he wasn't the reason why everything was so fucked up, he told himself that the others didn't blame him either, but he knew they did.

Everything had gone to shit, and it all had happened under Kakashi's watch.

Sasuke was a wanted criminal, the last anyone knew Sasuke was still working for the Akatsuki and Orochimaru, killing people for them... Acting as a sort of hitman, if you will.

Sakura had dropped out of her training with Tsunade when she heard the news about Sasuke. Over everyone, she always believed that Sasuke could be saved, she believed deep down, very, very, very far down, there was an atom inside Sasuke and inside that atom had a proton, inside that proton was a small chest, and even farther down into the very bottom of the chest was another small chest. Sakura believed that it was that chest that hid away the goodness he had locked away.

She knew when she heard the news that she couldn't save him, no one could, and she knew that he didn't want to be saved, so she gave up on him, she gave up on being a shinobi, she gave up on everything she had spent so hard to accomplish.

She moved away from Konoha and moved to a farther village, locking herself away, just like Sasuke had done with his chest.

And above all, Naruto was presumably dead.

Kakashi blamed himself, he was their sensei, if anyone should've been there to make sure they had fulfilling lives, it should've been him.

But everything he did, everything he taught, didn't mean jack shit because obviously, his entire team had fallen to pieces, on his watch.

How could he carry on perfectly fine when the kids, he pretty much raised all ended up fucked up?

I'm sorry... Sensei... I've failed you... Again.

I should've tried harder... My best wasn't enough.

Gripping the kunai, Kakashi stumbled out the front door, with only one thought racing through his mind, end this now.

The impostor was in Naruto's apartment, Kakashi couldn't allow for some boy to take his Naruto's place... No one could ever replace what was his.

Using all of his might, he dragged himself to Naruto's apartment.

Obito

"Hey!" Naruto turned around, scuffing his foot on the dry ground to see a familiar face, "Sasuke?" Sasuke smiled brightly at him, something he never did. "Hey, do you want to come with me and Sakura-chan to the movies later?" Naruto gave him a puzzled look, "You're inviting me to go watch a movie with you and Sakura? Hold on, since when have you gotten back?" Sasuke tilted his head in confusion, "Uh, what do you mean? I've always been here silly." Naruto rose his eyebrows, "But you were with Orochimaru and the Akatsuki, you had to have gotten back some time ago." Sasuke gave him a face, "Are you high? I've never heard of the Akatsuki and Orochimaru-sensei is the same as he always is....teaching."

"Teaching?" It was Obito who spoke up this time, "Yeah, he teaches the high school botany... What are you guys on? Obito-sensei, you teach history and Kakashi-sensei teaches literature."

Obito shot Sasuke a glance, before nervously chuckling a little, "I knew that I was just about testing you." Sasuke nodded slowly, "Are you guys sure you're okay? You guys are acting weird as hell."

Obito looked at Naruto, "Uh... Yeah.. We're fine." Naruto nodded to Sasuke, "Thanks for inviting me to the movies but.. I have something else to do."

Sasuke sighed, "Studying again? God, you're so grown up.. You're a teenager for fuck sakes, let loose a little."

Naruto nodded, "I'll keep that in mind, thanks, Sasuke." Sasuke smiled, "Sakura wanted to know if you guys were coming to that double date she had planned."

Obito raised an eyebrow, "Uh... Which one of us are you talking to?" Sasuke gave him a look, "Uh, both of you.. Have you guys lost your marbles?"

"Double date?" Sasuke chortled, "Yeah, it's a bit of a drag but she's my girlfriend, got to make sure she's happy, you know?"

Naruto laughed, "Wow, you and Sakura, huh?" Sasuke squinted his eyebrows, "Are you okay, Naruto? You're starting to worry me." Naruto shifted his head down, locking his eyes on his feet, "Yeah, I'm fine."

"You do-" A voice shouted a dreading noise, "NEJI-SAMA! STOOOOOP!" Naruto turned around to see Hinata being picked up over Neji's shoulder, "Neji, when will you ever learn to not pick up girls like that?" Sasuke chuckled out, Neji turned and shot him a glance, "Whatever, dobe."

Sasuke shook his head, locks of his hair falling in his face, "Teme." With a flick of his wrist, Sasuke brushed the hair out of his face, "So are you guys going to the double date or not?"

Naruto chuckled, "We'll be there." Sasuke smiled, "Cool beans."

A cough came from the back, Obito turned to see Kakashi looked down on him, "Honestly, you guys are disgusting." Naruto tilted his head, "What?" Kakashi's face twisted with rage, "Don't act like you don't know, being gay and all, how the fuck do either of you expect to fit in?"

Obito's eyes widened, "What?" Rin grabbed Kakashi's arm, "Kakashi, don't." Kakashi shook her off, "No, you know what, I'm so sick of you two running around being all lovey Dovey, it's disgusting... Unnatural... God... You guys make me sick."

Naruto glanced over to Obito, and Obito back to him, "What the hell?" he mouthed to him, Obito shrugged, "Beats me." he mouthed back.

Sasuke glared at Kakashi, "Kakashi-Sensei, knock it off." Kakashi's eyes wandered to Sasuke, "Are you seriously telling me that you accept the two of them?" Sasuke nodded, "Hey, it's not my business who they want to fuck, they're my friends, so yeah, I do." Kakashi shot Sasuke another glance, "Whatever, have fun with your faggot friends." Kakashi said before seizing Rin's arm, tearing her away with a look of affliction on her face.

Sasuke shifted to them, "I'm sorry about him." Naruto shook his head, "What was that about?" Sasuke's eyebrows quivered, "You seriously don't know?" Naruto sighed, "No, I don't. I don't understand any of this." Sasuke scratched his head, "You and Obito-Sensei have been together for two years now, and when you guys came out, Kakashi didn't accept it, and married Rin a couple of weeks later... Obito was going to be the best man, but..." Sasuke shook his head, "It's not right, I'm sorry you guys have to go through this because you're gay."

Obito felt weak, the world seemed to slow down, like gravity itself had lifted off of him and he had begun to drift, he could feel himself slipping away, exhaustion finally collapsing him
