"1pm." Was the first thing I told Tyson when I saw him a few days later.

"What?"

"1pm. Your shift starts at 1pm."

He looked at me in confusion.

"At the coffee shop. I got you a job."

"You what?"

"Yup." I smiled, and after a moment, he did too.

"Seriously?"

I nodded.

"You didn't have to—"

"Well I did. You can thank me now."

"Thank you! Thanks, so much." He was so happy. It made me happy.

"It was nothing."

"How was it nothing?" I have a record."

"Yeah well I got them to overlook that. I'm a very loyal customer. And I tip well." I said.

"When do I get off?"

"Today? 5. But you can adjust it to your liking later on."

"I'll probably work overtime."

"Do whatever you want." I told him.

"I just can't believe you actually— just, thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Well it's 12 right now. I should get going."

"Yeah. I'll probably come by." I let him know.

"Please do." He grinned.

Like I had told him, I made my way to the coffee shop hours later.

When I entered the place, immediately I saw Tyson in a black apron behind the counter.

He looked happy and was talking to another guy working with him. Jared. I came here enough to know him.

"A small chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, please." I told Jared, and at the sound of my voice, Tyson turned around and greeted me with a smile.

"I'll pay for that." He told Jared.

"What? No way! I got you this job to make money. Not waste it on me." I said.

"I'm not wasting anything. On me." He told Jared again, and I shot him a look.

"She could get me fired faster than she got you that job." Jared said with a smile.

"Oh we both know I wouldn't do that. But I'm paying." I said.

"Sorry dude."

Tyson just shook his head and went to make the drink.

"I never knew Liam had a brother. A twin for that matter." Jared told me as he waited for another customer.

"It wasn't advertised."

"I like Tyson. Wish I met him sooner."

"Same." I agreed.

"So are you with him now?"

"What? No!" I clarified with a nervous chuckle.

"Do you get all your friends jobs?" He smirked.

"He needed it. Im just trying to help."

"Mhm." He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Shut up." I shook my head but I was smiling.

"A small chocolate milk shake with whipped cream." Tyson came back with the drink.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"I'm staying until you get off work." I told him.

"That's in an hour. What are you gunna do until then?"

"Work." I held up my bag which had my laptop in it.

I had a report for school to do. Normally, it would've been done by now, but I'd been hanging out with Tyson over doing it.

"Okay."

It occurred to me that Tyson didn't go to school. What did he do all day?

I sat down at my usual spot in the corner and opened up my laptop.

I got to work on my report, which was on a murder case from a couple years back. My dad hadn't taken this particular one, but he assisted in it.

By the time the hour was finished, I was almost done.

"Hey. Wanna go now?" Tyson approached me, now without the apron.

I nodded.

"Yup." I put my stuff away and stood up.

"I'm going apartment hunting tomorrow."

"What? Already? You just started working."

"I know, but I have enough money from my parents. They probably think I blow it on drugs or something, which I don't. And with this job, I'll be okay."

"You're gunna have to be really careful with your budget." I tell him.

"I know."

"You're sure about this?"

He nodded.

"Okay."

"Did you drive here?" He asked, and I shook my head.

"Took a bus."

It was my first time in a while.

"Why?"

"Because I knew I'd be going back with you." I grinned.

"Am I that predictable?"

"Yes."

"Well then."

We got onto his motorcycle, and he handed me a helmet.

"You know, I'm kind of warming up to this thing." I said before putting it on.

"Welcome to the dark side."
