Nox's POV during the Ceremony:
The day is quite like Little bird and I's Ceremony.
I'm proud of my son. I'm proud that he's worked it out with Graham, that he's a strong wolf.
I'm so happy for him, watching the way his fingers are twiddling around in his nervousness, awaiting the love of his life.
Gem is standing to the side, included even though she has no bond with Talon, though she has no bond with Graham. It shows that he will be a fair leader that will bring happiness to this pack.
I'm silently glad that it has worked out the way it has. Talon has done part of his duty as an Alpha by continuing our heritage on. Now the duty doesn't have to rest on my girls' shoulders.
Gem and Wren are tittering away, unable to handle their giggles as they look down the makeshift aisle.
My gaze shoots in that direction and I see it.
Wren's bonding gown, ripped and tattered, draped over Graham's shoulders. I almost lose it myself. I lock eyes with Wren, give her a knowing look. The girls have been planning away I see. Well, the girls and Graham apparently.
He wears it proudly even though it barely fits over his massive muscles. I'll give him that. My jaw almost hits the ground at the surprise of this. I can't believe my mate would do such a thing, would carry on this redicuous disrespect. I have to roll my eyes, but can't stop the chuckles that have escaped me with the way her robe looks on a fully grown male wolf.
They take hands, one giving the other a questioning look. My poor son has no idea what kind of trickery has been played on him.
"Tradition?" Talon voices a question.
Talon has a goofy grin on his face, proud of himself for continuing this new 'tradition' of disrespect.
My little bird is holding her hand to her mouth, pointing a finger towards Graham and finally letting Talon in on the inside joke. "That was what I wore to my bonding ceremony!" She yells out and before clutching my arm and looking up at me with a twinkle in her eyes. She's one crazy she-wolf if she thinks she's getting some after this display. I let my eyes do the talking for me, letting her know that there will be no sex today or tonight. My little bird can only pout before we all start to sober up, to calm down.
Talon thanks his mother for the ceremony ribbon before we continue on, letting me bless them for this pack, for the moon goddess.
I send a silent prayer up myself, hoping and wishing them safe sailing on the trials of life still yet to come.
