Just a warning, this chapter is smutty at some point. I put little asterisks* when it starts and ends. Also included Closer by The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, since it was on while I wrote this.
Fili could barely contain his excitement. He laughed, hugging his brother and laughed again. He, Thorin and Kili had been stuck in a meeting about Erebor's repairs when a messenger interrupted them.
"Sire!" He announced to Thorin, who looked a little annoyed to be interrupted. "They've arrived." He barely finished the sentence when the room practically emptied. Fili was one of the first out, hurrying down the hall to the main gates. He could hear people shouting the message all around Erebor. Tools were put down, work put on hold.
Erebor had been reclaimed nearly a year and a few months ago, and most of the living halls had been repaired and deemed habitable. Thorin had sent out word months ago to tell those who wished to travel back to Erebor to begin doing so.
The first group had finally arrived, and the last letter Fili got from you told him you would be in that group.
It was all he could do not to run to the main hall and trip over something. It had been months since your last letter and he couldn't wait to finally see you. Letters were nice, especially after those long months of hearing nothing from you, but they did no justice.
The great doors were pulled open to allow hundreds of dwarves into the mountain. They all stared in awe, some even crying out at how beautiful the place was. Of course it wasn't the same as before, but most dwarves had given up hope of ever returning to their homeland.
Fili tried not to be rude and push past everyone, but he couldn't spot you at a distance. He searched every face, looking for yours. When he had reached the back of the group he frowned, feeling desperate. What if you hadn't come? 'What if something happened to her on the way here?' The road wasn't as dangerous, especially now that the elven king of Mirkwood was letting dwarves pass through with guides. But there were still so many unforeseeable dangers. A fall from a pony, an animal attack, an illness.
Suddenly a pair of hands clapped over his eyes, blinding and startling him. He jumped a little, his now seasoned and honed warrior senses making him tense up and reach for a weapon. Then suddenly there was a tinkling laugh and the hands moved away.
Fili turned so quick he was nearly dizzy and came face to face with your sparkling (Y/E/C) eyes. He stood in silent shock for a second, before pulling you into a tight hug, knocking the air out of you as you held him close.
"Fili." You breathed. "It's been too long." He nodded, unable to say anything. You two held each other until your arms got sore. And when you let go you almost fell over with what you saw.
When Fili left the Blue Mountains he was still getting out of his late teens years. He still had a bit of that round faced youth about him. But now you saw he had lost that boyishness. You could tell he had muscled out even more through the green tunic he wore. His beard and mustache were the same, but his hair was slightly longer, and he now had a third braid on either side of his head.
When Fili looked at you he realized why he might have missed you. You were now much curvier! You had figure and had filled out in places. Your face was leaner, and you now had defined cheekbones. You no longer looked like a teenager, but a beautiful young woman who had come into full bloom.
"I don't know what to say." He said, breaking the silence. He chuckled nervously. "I had all these things to say coming here and now... You look amazing."
You blush. "You too. You've... you look..." You gestured to his arms and face. "Really strong."
He laughed again. "I've had a lot of tough workouts. Let me help you." He went to grab your bags while you handled another. "You didn't bring much."
